Help a little Coldplay Fan see the World

Featured Replies

Ryan was a big fan of Coldplay. At two, she could point out each band member and tell you their name and instrument. We spent hours and hours together listening to their music and watching concert videos...she was my true Coldplay buddy. I had planned to take her to a show on the next tour which would have been Viva La Vida but it wasn't to be.

Ryan was just three when she passed away suddenly two years ago. In an effort to keep our daughters memory alive, we started a project called, Ryan's MINI Adventure. We invite people to take her favorite toy, her Red Matchbox MINI Cooper on journeys near and far to visit, meet, and experience all the wonders that this earth and beyond has to offer. Each journey is captured in a photo. In fact, her little red MINI just returned from trips to Antarctica, Stonehenge and the International Space Station, but there are many places yet to visit.

If you think you might want to participate or just want to see some cool photos, please visit....

Coldplay provided me so many memories with Ryan and their music and has been instrumental in providing me the strength to get through the last two years. I've taken Ryan's MINI to six Coldplay shows thus far and hopefully one day, it will find it's way into the hands of the band. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The website has a lot more information and all of the photos, but for anyone interested in having a loaner MINI sent to them, they can write to [email protected]. Currently, there are MINIs in South Africa, New Zealand, Oklahoma, Legoland, and en route to Vietnam and Cambodia.

Thank you Coldplay and thank you to Coldplaying.com.

This "Adventure" sounds so wonderful.

How does it work? Do you send the toy(s) to people, and then they take pictures, and then they send the toy(s) back to you?

Aw shit, now I'm about to cry. :disappointed:

Great thread, and yes it DOES help, despite what others may have posted. Ryan would have loved the :flutterby: :flutterby: :flutterby: :)

Where's the astronaut photos? :wink3:

I would be most honored to take the car to Mexico on tour with me. I can show it around Texas as well.

almost like Flat Stanley!! :nice:

this is a nice idea... interesting to see all the places it will get to!

Such a touching thing. I was very ill in Leukaemia when I was little. If I hadn't made it, I sure hope people would have contributed to something like this for my parents. Of course I've sent an e-mail. :nice:

You guys are one of the most wonderful people I know :)

hopefully one day the car will make it onto Chris's piano for a concert

awe!

How cool would that be?!

What a great story!!! I am wondering if you should send Anchorman an email about this wonderful thing?

i think that would be the ultimate adventure for Ryan's MINI, if it was somehow possible! :D

I would love to take one of the MINIs on a tour of North Carolina! I sent you an e-mail. :nice:

this is wonderfull :D

This story just breaks my heart. But this is an amazing idea!

You should definitely send an email to Anchorman and see if a photo with Coldplay could be arranged!

I cry. :bigcry:

I wish to take part in this. RIP Little Ryan. <3

Wow...thanks you to everyone who has taken a moment from your busy day to check out Ryan's website. And a special thanks to Ian for posting it in the news!!! Your the best. I think I will name a son after you...oh wait I already did.

As far as contacting the band, I have in the past, tried sending a note to Debs as well as posting to the Oracle but I'm sure they get many many personal requests. Of course, if it were to make it into the bands hands I think it might just trump the trip it took to space.

I often think that if we do indeed live on in some other form after we pass on, I hope that Ryan gets a front row seat at every Coldplay show!

Thank you again...I could never put into words how much this means to our family.

ps. How does one contact the Anchorman?

Well it helps the parents feel better, I know, definitely, and that's good, but... the kid... is gone... :/

(Gee thanks, Ian for moving my post)

Good luck with what you're doing anyway. Really.

I REALLY AM SORRY ABOUT THE KID :bigcry: zomg it's sad

such a beautiful story! i sure do hope it makes it to the band, little Ryan would've loved that!

To Ryan's family,

What a heartbreaking story.

As a parent myself I can't even begin to try and imagine what you have been through. I am actually crying as I write this. :(

I think what you are doing is amazing.

From what you have shared with us about Ryan, she would've loved this.

I'm sure that if the boys knew of this they would be most happy to participate - after all they themselves are all parents.

Thankyou for sharing Ryan with us through your videos.

What a sweet, beautiful girl. I was smiling through the tears.

But oh jeeze, when The Scientist came on :bigcry:

I hope you can take comfort in knowing that your precious little Angel is smiling down on you, and enjoying the adventures her favourite toy is going on.

And yes, I'm sure she has the best seat in the house at every show! :)

Peace and Love to you

Here's a bit of early video of Ryan enjoying some classic Coldplay. (1 1/2 years old)

Wow, what a touching story. She truly was a beautiful little girl. The website is a brilliant idea and I really hope it reaches the band members. It's great to see so many people all over the world working to keep Ryan's memory alive.

^ That video is just too adorable! :nice: I actually started crying when I watched it. She's so sweet. My deepest condolences for your loss.
