soccer crowds are usually annoying, but those tutuzelas are a cross between a wasp nest and a fly inside your ear. Most be maddening to play underneath that incessant buzz.

The France game was very boring, didn't even watch the whole match. Also those horns were incredibly annoying.

Anyway I'm very excited about tomorrow night!

Those horns are even more annoying than mexican ones. But I guess in that case mexicans have little advantage since they are used to them.

I think they should be banned. You cant really hear chants or anything because of this constant noise and it really affects the atmosphere in the stadium.

South Africa 1 - 1 Mexico

Uruguay 2 - 1 France

I was right in One game

dissapointing uruguay france match

Boring matches indeed, but the second half of South Africa - Mexico wasn't that bad. I felt a bit sorry for the host nation. These vuvuzelas are getting on my nerves though! :D

Bad foul...

i cant believe people didnt enjoy the south africa mexico match! this isnt the fucking english premier league. football isnt about it raining goals all the time. both teams played great expansive attacking football, it might not of been the most skillful tactical game but i still loved watching it. if both teams had converted their easy opportunities it couldve been a 5 or 6 goal game easily.

I was working at the time, and was only seeing it through a distant tv screen, but I really liked the mexico-SA match. The france-uruguay match was blah for the most part though.

Exactly! What I especially loved most about it was South Africa's build up play which was beautifully crafted most of the time despite not being the best players in the world. They could so easily have opted for the anti football tactic by playing long ball and lumping it high in the air but they didn't!

I had faith in Forlán.

Can't wait to see Spain.

Forlan was the man of the match Fifa announced :P

but the team played badly

In my opinion Muslera was the best player of the match, he is a great goalkeeper!

he gathered the most points in Ian's fantasy world cup thing for today.

Khune: Vuvuzelas weren't loud enough

South Africa goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has described the atmosphere in the opening game of the World Cup as a "letdown" and urged local fans to make more noise with their vuvuzelas in the country's remaining two group games.

After a lavish opening ceremony, South Africa drew 1-1 with Mexico in a game that introduced the noisy vuvuzela to a global audience, with just less than 85,000 fans in attendance at Soccer City.

But Khune, who made a number of good saves throughout the game in Johannesburg, complained that South Africa did not have the backing they expected from the home supporters.

"We couldn't hear the vuvuzelas," Khune said. "We expected to hear them and to be lifted by the people and the noise and the atmosphere. It was a letdown.

"It was very disappointing for us. It was very surprising. We thought there were going to be a lot more South African fans there.

"The atmosphere was not that good. It was not what we expected. There were a lot of Mexican fans there. It was like a Mexico home game. It was a Mexican advantage."

South Africa's second group game comes against Uruguay, who drew 0-0 with France on Friday night, and Khune wants the home support to be louder in order to tip the balance in the favour of Bafana Bafana.

IS HE DEAF!!

South Africa v Mexico was a great spectacle I thought but your right in that Uruguay v France had a lot to be desired for mainly thanks to the very unambitious France coach Domenech. Okay there have been better games but the magnificent occasion and setting made for one of the best atmpospheres I have seen in any football tournament. But tomorrow should be really interesting. Oh and the standard of the refereeing so far has been 10/10. Fantastic. The referees were not the attention seeking, camera catching ****s a lot of them are.

Agreed on the reffing. Great, consistent calls in the first two games, and they didn't let the players whining get to them.

Yep. They're nothing short of dreadful.

IS HE DEAF!!

I lol'd.

IS HE DEAF!!

:O

now they are going to make more noise vs Uruguay :laugh3:

day 2 predictions:

South Korea 2 - 0 Greece

Argentina 2 - 0 Nigeria

U.S.A 1 - 1 England

Greece 1 - 0 South Korea

Argentina 2 - 0 Nigeria

England 3 - 1 USA

Hahahahah Rooney will score AT LEAST 2. I'm just feeling a goal from someone else. Crouch perhaps?

Probably an own goal off the back of Onyewu's head, moments after his triumphant return via a sub.

It's such a shame that Mexico's finest player, Guardado, (along with Marquez and Dos Santos) is recovering from an injury. He's not in good shape at all and today seemed like another wandering and erratic player.

BTW Unfortunately I won't be able to watch the matches tomorrow, but I concur with Josh predictions.
