^ oh no! :bigcry:

the 1st one to say that Uruguay loses

I really don't mind Italy. They encapsulate something about football that no other nation can capture!

You're wrong. They're not unique, France manages to be worse! :laugh3:

Holland aren't being talked about much which could work for them. Watch them run up the inside and surprise everyone?!

Now that's what I'm talkin'bout!

And yeah, Brazil very much resemble the style of football of it's manager.

Dunga never was a good player, and I have no idea who thought he'd make a good manager. And he's the one who prevented Internacional, the team I support, from getting demoted to the Second Division in 99! Thanks to him, we've never been there, and we never will.

In all honesty I think this Brazilian side is the weakest, in individual terms, for a good while.

Agreed. But after 1950 and 1994, I don't doubt a thing when talking about Brazil.

What's your score predictions guy for THE FIRST MATCHES!

South Africa 0 - 3 Mexico

Uruguay 2 - 1 France

I really hope Uruguay wins against France!

My predictions

South Africa 0 - 0 Mexico

Uruguay 0 - 1 France

theres one thing for certain i just dont see too many 0-0 draws in the early stages of the world cup. especially with the ball they are using. i work at a sports store and we sell the official match ball (as a collectors item) and ive had the chance to use it a few times and it is as unpredictable as anything. i think the goalies will have a horrible time at this cup. but eventually the better keepers will get used to it and we'll start to see games going into extra time at 0-0 as the teams lean towards "not losing" rather than going for the "win".

my predictions

Don't be surprised if they lose though, France beat Brazil in the last world cup during quarter finals for a 1-0 victory.

South Africa and Mexico is gonna be tough, since it is the inauguration and South Africa doesn't want to look weak.

Lets hope we get some decent matches this time around where the opposing teams are both playing well.

There were too many matches in the last World Cup (including the final) where this didn't happen.:dozey:

^^ i know, france is huge, but they are not doing good.. we also draw on the 2002 cup..

but now we come better,so ;) plus uruguayan history is really big compared to france one, that sometimes matters :D psicologicaly

Day 1 predictions:

Mexico 2 South Africa 1

Would have put 2-0, but since they're the host I'll give them a goal.

France 3 Uruguay 1

Uruguay will score and early goal and France will look shaky for the first half, but Uruguay's defense will let them down as the game progresses.

As bad as france has played lately, their roster is so stacked that as soon as they tape a couple loose parts together they could potentially dominate. Its pretty amazing that a team with those players can run off and do something like losing to china, but they've been so consistently poor that I don't have any faith in them against uruguay.

From what i've read there's discontent within the players in the France camp something along the lines of wanting Henry to be in the starting line up and some of the players not happy that Gourcuff is starting when he hasn't performed well for France. I think their a disaster waiting to happen and will more than happy to see them implode.

My predictions,

Mexico 1 South Africa 1

France 0 Uruguay 1

^ saw that on espn today hahahha

I love how the "english" guy on the left starts cracking up at :38.

That tragic news might spur the team to play their hearts out even more.

I am telling you, South Africa isn't going to look weak today.

With his special skills, they just HAVE TO "hand" Henry a place...................
