cleeson7
Coldplay are very generous to us and im not including R#42 Leftrightleftrightleft or The Oracle Im talking about prices. My friend was quoted £55 to see JLS (Boyband from X Factor) in Cardiff. This is ridiuclous, Im not dissing them as a band but for a band with only one album that is daylight robbery Anyway my point is I paid £35 to see Coldplay at Manchester's MEN and £45 to see them at Wembley Stadium. I think Coldplay have fought against the record companies to give us good value for money. Now remember Coldplay have sold 50 millions albums and won lots of awards. We are very very lucky because I truly believe they are care.... What do you think? Anyway have different views? Are we lucky or not?
Lore
I wouldn't say we're lucky because of the concert ticket prices, for example here we had to pay between 88 and 180 dollars to see them during the 2007 latin american tour. Same happened this year but I don't remember the ticket prices because they didn't come here. I'd say we're lucky because they have people working for them who are very accesible for the fans, I mean, Debs for example.
Mimixxx
Prices inflate year on year though and last time they played UK arenas was 2008, also ticket prices for the Latin America gigs were absolutely extortionate. I don't think Coldplay themselves really have much control over it to be honest.
Batman
I don't think Coldplay themselves really have much control over it to be honest. Unfortunately this is the case I believe
laga
yeah I don't think how much tickets cost is entirely their decision, they have some say on it but there's a lot to consider....they were quite expensive here in Latin America, in dollars they were more expensive than in other places. However, we ARE lucky because they always try to do their best. Some artist charge you just as much, or even more, for tickets but they don't put any energy in the show and you can tell. With coldplay you get everything you pay for and more, much, much more. I mean I would be happy seeing them live even if they just sat through the etire show, but you know what I mean. They give their best and it's fantastic!
Mimixxx
Well...they could stand to play for a bit longer IMO. But at least they're not like Madonna who demands over £100 a ticket to watch her mime

Guest howyousawtheworld
Jesus Christ?! £55 to go and see JLS? I'd pay £55 to them making sure they never perform again.

Raphaele
VIP tickets in Brazil were very expensive during the last Latin American tour (almost 200£ each) and cheaper tickets were half that price...

ViVA Child
Or Lady Gaga, who was asking for nearly $200 per seated ticket. :| Worlds most expensive Attention Whore. And I wouldnt say we're THAT lucky. Not anymore. Theyre too damn big and famous now. I wish they were more like Muse uploading videos of them goofing off. It would make my LIFE to see something like "Coldplay goes fishing" Coldplay doesnt even make christmas vids anymore :( We dont hear a peep from them. But Chris from Muse has a twitter and I dont know about you but I would be friggin stoked if one member of coldplay actually took the time out of his day to update the fans. I just wish Coldplay communicated with the fans and stuff more since they apparently have all this time to hobnob around with all these elitist famous people and shit..... ...just saying. Although ....we are lucky that they are as amazing as they are and NOT as big of assholes as they should be at this point. From what I can tell, they seem really down to earth and like they care about their fans. We are lucky they arent a bunch of Liam Gallaghers (no offense but...well....ya)
Black Rose
It's supply and demand, if the promoters think they will sell the tickets for £55 for JLS, then they will try and sell them for that amount of money.
Corkus
But Chris from Muse has a twitter and I dont know about you but I would be friggin stoked if one member of coldplay actually took the time out of his day to update the fans. I remember that Guy was tweeting for a few weeks, but that was over a year ago and didn't last that long. For the two shows I went to, lower level seating, floor seating, and GA were all around $100 a ticket (not including convenience fees, which were another $30), and they remain some of the most expensive concert tickets I've bought. It's gonna vary from country to country and from venue to venue.

We are lucky they arent a bunch of Liam Gallaghers (no offense but...well....ya) Who they choose to socialise with has nothing to do with how they treat us though  They went on tour for almost two years, then went right back into the studio, if they want to go lark around on a beach with their family and (one or two famous) friends for a few weeks then they're entitled to I think, without having to worry that we've gone a few weeks without an update. I know what you mean in terms of not having that personal interaction, but like you said they're just so big, can you imagine if Chris M had a twitter, every single thing he said would be reported by gossip blogs/papers and twisted to suit whatever story was going around about him at that time. Plus they've always been kinda enigmatic as individuals. The only member I could see having a twitter is Guy, but he was driven off Facebook by over zealous fans so I imagine the same thing would happen on Twitter. I do miss the silly videos though...maybe this Ping thing might help, a few of the updates seem to be written by one of the band, I'm thinking Phil maybe? Just saying. :| and Wolsty wants his worm back! :laugh3: that video makes me laugh every time. Which is why I wish Coldplay would do the same .... it may not seem like anything to them, but personally, that is the sort of thing that, if I (or any fan for that matter) feel miserable and my day absolute shit, well.... it can make everything better and put a smile on your face. And then I would think that would make the fans love them even more. Not to mention it makes them seem down to earth and relatable and just... chill. Hell I'm probably the only one here not in a hurry to see LP 5 because I want a chance to blow all my money on somethig other than Coldplay concerts for a change. (Like Glastonbury for example) However I do think who they hang out with influences things.... and Im not referring to Goopy or Jay Z cuz I get that hes friends with him and thats fine, whatever... I just think its easy to forget where you came from when your where they are now and concidering who they know and hang out with. And as far as them on social networking sites.... well the press are gonna say what theyre gonna say anyways. And it wouldn't be analyzed any more than all the other famous people who have a twitter or facebook. I think they should go for it and not let fear of the press influence their decisions or how they interact with people. And WHAT guy had a facebook AND a twitter and I new of neither one ... :blank: ... . . . . . . . . . . . . .....:suicides:

Mimixxx
Yeah, I get what you're saying, I was listening to an old interview the other day, like early 2002 and he is a lot different, a lot more candid and open than he is now. Guy would post on Coldplay's Twitter, he didn't have his own, but at one point he was Tweeting photos every day and then it just stopped. Phil used to post on Coldplay's Twitter too, then that stopped too. Now it's just a mirror to the official site.
