There's quite a few, because to be honest, I wasn't nearly as musically diverse last year as I am this year. I'll try to name the major ones.....

-The National

-Freelance Whales

-Geographer

-Mumford & Sons

-Beach House

-Devendra Banhart

-Broken Social Scene

I was completely unaware of Beach House prior to this year. Combined with having one of the best albums of the year, the band in general was a great discovery.

I suppose I can count The National, since even though I had "Fake Empire" on my iTunes beforehand, I hadn't given the rest of their stuff a proper listen. New album gave me the shove I needed. In fact, there's quite a few bands who I only knew one song from before 2010 and gave them more of a listen this year, such as The Temper Trap and Mates of State.

But if we're just counting outright new discoveries, then definitely Beach House. :)

Also The Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro

I've been introduced to a TON of music this year.

Admiral Fallow - Scottish band, were supporting Frightened Rabbit at Shepherd's Bush.
