June 1, 201115 yr im really torn between 2 minds. on the one hand, im desperate for new material, and i want the new album as soon as possible, but on the other hand, im going to my first coldplay gig in cape town in october, and i would absolutely hate having to listen to brand new songs replacing earlier classics such as everythings not lost, amsterdam, politik, etc, etc, etc. especially if the album comes out very close to the show and i wont get a chance to get used to the songs. i dont mind them playing a couple of new songs from the new album, but id really be disappointed if i went to the coldplay gig ive been dreaming about for 10 years (i actually dreamed about the concert last night) and they played 7 new songs like they did last night, for that reason, im willing to wait for a mid october release. (i know its selfish)
June 1, 201115 yr Hi guys! First time poster here :) Very excited to see the band gearing up for a new album! With regards to this secret gig - i have a feeling they won't play these 7 new songs at their festival performances before they release the album - imo it wouldn't be a good marketing strategy to basically reveal the vast majority of the album publicly, for free. But the fact that they performed so many new songs at this gig has me sure that the new record will be here very soon! I had been worried that, because ETIAW was announced on coldplay.com as a "single", but not "lead single to a new album", and with no mention of an album name or release date, that 'Teardrop' might be a standalone single like 'Christmas lights', and that the actual album was far away. However, if they have played a full 7 songs, then that should certainly indicate an imminent release (i'm guessing a month or two). :thumbsup:

ORACLE CONFIRMED GLASTO WILL HAVE NEW SONGS, WHICH MEANS THAT THE OTHER FESTIVALS WILL ALSO DO!!! AND NEW SONGS ALSO MEAN THAT THE NEW ALBUM IS COMING REALLY CLOSE!!! I'm so happy :D!!! I can't wait!!! But first step... new Song this Friday :D!!! Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall... The new era has started :)! And I'm loving it just the way I did with the others... or way much more!!! :D

I'd like some actual proof from what happened last night tbh, one photo shouldn't be too much to ask for, just to confirm that whoever('s friend) actually went! :P

June 1, 201115 yr But here they are again, standing in that very same little corridor, emerging from the studio and onto the live stage. About to start a new adventure. Nervous, excited and hoping that the world shares their enthusiasm for what they’ve created. they already know the world shares their enthusiasm for what they created in the past so its clearly talking about the new songs! its a question of when they will get played! if you think about it in the same situation in 2002, they debuted AROBTTH at Glastonbury. so it might be a case of waiting till then!

I looked at the gig as more of a trial run of their new material in front of the people who know and love them best, friends and family. I'm sure it was a very positive atmosphere. I'm also going to Austin City Limits, coming from California for it, and I couldn't be more excited, both for the old songs and the new songs. And yeah!!! I'm also excited for the old songs :)! but obviously would love to hear the new ones live before they come to Mexico (since I know latin america is always last in their tours :)) Heeey!!! I will also celebrate my birthday in Austin :)!!! I mean, my birthday is on September 2nd, but it's really close to 16th when they'll play :D!!!
