I've been watching this video over and over again.

 

 

I love how the drums become muted and they have to stop the whole song.

And I love how Will continues drumming even when he's not suppose to during the bridge and which leads to a whole different version of In My Place.

 

It's just awesome seeing how the band deals with huge mistakes like this.

:\ oh gosh, I feel so sorry for them to deal with such mistakes....it's difficult to be all settle down in live, but they have huge experience with this song played dozens of times, I wonder what happened, and really if Chris after the end of the show did mess up with Will...

haha, such an amazing thread. I never would have seen these different mistakes if it weren't for this thread :) I love it when they mess up just because it really shows their personality but what's even better is the way they recover from each mistake.

I don't think I've ever seen a Coldplay gig without at least one fuck-up. Usually, they're quite funny and don't really harm the flow of the concert.

 

One exception was Amsterdam at the secret gig in Amsterdam in 2005. Chris just didn't manage to get it right and stopped playing it after a couple of tries.

It's not a big fuck up but around 1:25 Chris fucks up a word in the lyrics. It was the first time they performed this version of the song I think (my favourite version of one of my favourite songs) and Chris was probably confused because the instrumentals in the beginning are different (like the chorus) from the original version and he thought for a split second that he had to sing the second verse already. Had to be "I awake to find no peace of mind" and not yet " I awake to see that no one is free".
