August 12, 201114 yr I'm hoping for some bright acoustic guitar-y intro that explodes with a riff from Jonny that's like a hybrid of In My Place and Strawberry Swing. As a lead single, I would be really surprised by a dark song named Paradise (but that could be interesting and with Coldplay you never know!) I love this! It'll probably be up tempo since lead singles usually are, but they may surprise us with a ballad since ETIAW was up tempo. Hmmm... God, I lose my internet for three days just in time to miss the announcements, lol. This is GREAT NEWS! :D
August 12, 201114 yr i feel like it will be a scientist/speed of sound mixture if that even makes sense! :D
August 12, 201114 yr Author At High Speed.....does anybody know who the Oracle is???? Nobody knows who he/she is ... but imagine if he/she is a fellow Coldplayer. The guy from Billboard said it's a "BOLD ANTHEM" so I can't wait to hear it. Awesome ... means it will most probably be something different from what we've heard so far.
August 12, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure we know she's a she. My friend has a theory that the boys, Phil andDebs all take turns. I doubt it, but it's a fun thought.
August 12, 201114 yr I expect a beach video. which is what Yellow would have been if it hadn't of rained and with dancing girls in bikinis and dancing dolphins and pineapples
August 12, 201114 yr I think it'll have a lively, upbeat instrument part like Lovers In Japan, except maybe on guitar, and the lyrics will detail this wonderful, better place, in a narrative style, which is what the Billboard Q&A said it was (the narrative part, anyway).
August 12, 201114 yr The second single is always the biggest :D Yeah and this makes me feel very excited. Cause I excpectet Charlie Brown or Hurts Like Heaven (if ETIAW won't be on the album, so HLH = Violett Hill and CB = Viva la Vida) as the next single. Obviously the band has a ace behind and this is anything but great!
August 12, 201114 yr In order to market this album well, this has to be the most radio-friendly, mass-appeal single (Viva La Vida was released about this time sequentially before LP4). Therefore, I expect something with a lot of grandeur. Something really stadium-friendly.
August 13, 201114 yr VH was thes ong released before LP4. But is was a powerful choice too. VH was released in March to download, and Viva was released about 3 weeks before the album (May 25, 2008) To download. Physical release was at the same time as the album almost. Album came out June 11.

August 13, 201114 yr Yes! They wrote a song about my hometown! And yes, I actually do live here. :smug:
August 13, 201114 yr It's probably gonna have a piano start and then form into a guitar driven rock anthem. Just a thought.
August 13, 201114 yr Yes! They wrote a song about my hometown! And yes, I actually do live here. :smug: Ha, I believe you! I used to live in Hawai'i, it was :awesome: I really miss it! So you are on Maui?
August 13, 201114 yr God I'm just excited that the first single isn't something we've heard before! This is going to be AMAZING!!!

August 13, 201114 yr I'm expecting something happy, poppy and summery. So like Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall basically. Also I'm expecting it to be crap. I really hope it's not.
August 13, 201114 yr Am I the only one who thinks that it's kind of an off-character track title for Coldplay? It kind of doesn't fit the essence of their last hits. I'm hoping it's really different and I'm hoping that it is well-structured.
