thebouncer12345
Judging by what we've heard from Mylo Xyloto, "Charlie Brown", "Hurts Like Heaven", etc. Do you think Coldplay will win any Grammys in 2012? I certainly think they'll get nominated! What categories are you thinking?

ColdplayingfromKansas
Well . . . they'll certainly be nominated for something--after all, they're Coldplay.
Brent
These will be the winners Album of the year- Coldplay Song of the year- Coldplay Record of the year- Coldplay Rock album of the year- Coldplay Alternative album of the year- Coldplay Hip Hop album of the year- Coldplay Gospel album of the year- Coldplay Best spoken word recording- Coldplay Pop album of the year- Coldplay Lifetime achievement award- Coldplay Best musical production- Kanye West I think that's pretty realistic. Although they'll be nominated, I don't think they'll win production. I had to be frank about it. Coldplay can't win everything after all. :P
Prospector
I guess they'll take 4 this time: Album Of The Year (wich they should have win in 2009) Song Of The Year (for Charlie Brown) Best Rock Album Best Rock Performance Duo/Group (Hurts Like Heaven or another track we don't know)
ColdplayingfromKansas
These will be the winners Gospel album of the year- Coldplay Best spoken word recording- Coldplay I lol'd  I'm betting on 4-6 nominations and 2-3 wins, probably for: Album of the Year Song of the Year Best Performance by a Duo/Group

Drew42LP5
Isn't Paradise the only thing that can get nominated? Every Teardrop won't win song of the year, according to YOU PEOPLE. But, isn't MX coming out too late to get Album of the Year and all the other album awards? If so, we'll have to wait until 2013.

bdevil89
They so deserved Album of the Year for Viva - just finished listening to the album - wow - what pure creativity and brilliance - Eno told them he wanted each song to sound different from the previous - and it surely accomplishes that - listen to that album again - they truly make albums that need to be heard fully through. Lit, Col, Lost, 42, LoJ/RoL, Yes/CSC, Viva, VH, SS, Death - Wow! each song truly is different from the previous and that's not even including A Spell A Rebel Yell plus Prospekt's March EP. I love robert plant and Led Zeppelin, but that was pure highway robbery and a downright shock - it looked like Coldplay's night - though they still won Song of the year, however they should have won Album of the Year. Jedi Leo
I don't blame anyone creating random threads. I'm so bored and tired on waiting news from the Coldplay front. Unline viva, this era seems to crawl ahead :(
alejolo
Its a little bit early to decide since we haven't listened to the record or seen how it did worldwide :)
Major_Love
Why we discuss about possible Grammys? The album isn't out now, to give a realistic opinion on the question we have to hear the complete work.

kittybitty
I predict Album of the Year, due to the fact that they did not win for VLV, which they should have (I mean, really, Robert Plant!!!??) It's like a few years ago when U2 lost for whatever that album was that had "A Beautiful Day" and then won with their next album, which was not stellar. It was the Academy saying, "uh, yeah, we made a mistake."
Blue Nails
Of course they're gonna get a shitload of grammys
Tryptophan
I think they are going to be nominated (at least) for Album Of The Year, no matter how great, average or crappy the album will be. Because they're Coldplay. Their current popularity is largely determined by their success over the last 11 years, not only this year. Coldplay have become some kind of brand. And Grammys are all about popularity.

Karencorpse
Some of these can happen, like Gospel album of the Year. Jetro Tull won Heavy Metal Album, so anything is possible.
