I just came home from London.

I went to the gig on Saturday but then decided to try also on Monday.

I was trying to buy the ticket at the stadium but it seemed impossible at first, there were only touts selling for horrible prices. They were like rats running around trying to buy from people and sell expensively. I was getting desperate but then an Irish guy came to me and asked if I want a ticket. He wanted even less than the face value but I paid him the face value of course.

If he's on the board, thank you so much again!

 

It was quite late when I got inside, so I decided to go to the same spot as I had on Saturday, which was right at the C-stage.

I think it was better to be so close at least for the two songs than to be somewhere in the middle of the stadium for the whole show.

 

The show was amazing, it felt a bit different than on Sat. also because of the weather. It seemed like there were much more people, at least where I was standing. On Sat. there was a lot of space to jump and dance and on Mon. I could hardly move. But the energy was fantastic.

 

I don't have any good pictures so won't bother you with the few I took.

I'll upload them later and put in my sig.

Was tempted to go Monday on my own also but didn't want to get ripped off by a tout!

Watched back my video of the start, and noticed that the timing of the very beginning of Hurts Like Heaven is completely off- the little piano riff and the fireworks start about a second early, and it threw me completely singing along :D But the band, the pros that they are, didn't even flinch. :cool:

Before 99 problems they usually play "How do I know" by Here We Go Magic.

That's all I know :).

 

:) Many thanks for that......you are absolutely right, never heard it before and just looked it up and is exactly the one. Think there were about three more before the two tracks we do now know....they were sort of ambient tracks.

 

But this is great, many thanks for replying and helping me. Greatly appreciated.

 

Anyone else know any of the others? The warm up tracks at these events are often really good but hard to find. Certainly not to take anything away from the main event who were super.....worth the 4 hour drive for sure.

This is what happened:

 

I was one of the first people who got through the turnstiles at entrance S but I was a bit behind because I forgot to grab a xyloband. I decided to run down the stairs taking two steps at the same time (just like I did on Saturday) and it went perfectly until I was almost downstairs. I think I stumbled or whatever and I fell on my knees and hands. Laura was behind me and stopped but I told her to keep running. After a couple of seconds I managed to get up and I somehow managed to reach the barrier where I sat down and freaked out. Within seconds there were 4 security guards standing in front of me. The medics arrived soon after that. They needed to take me backstage to threat my ankle but I made them promise me that I could return to front row otherwise I wouldn't leave! :lol:

Backstage they took care of me and put a bandage around my ankle and gave me some painkillers. I'm not sure how long I was there, probably 15/30 minutes. A medic brought me back to the stage where I asked the security guards if I could return to my old spot. The head of security recognized me and escorted me back to where the others where standing and with a little bit of help I climbed over the barrier.

I took the bandage of when I got back home late last night, it's still really swollen end it's completely blue. But I can walk around so I'll be fine! :nice:

I am so so glad you managed to get in, and at a reasonable price - as I was so worried for you when I rang to say the person who I had promised my spare ticket to who was unwell had managed to get there - I felt Oh no! as it is so hard to be so close and then disappointed - obviously you were meant to be there that night! I was on the side that they ran around in the encore to get to the front in actual touching distance - so Ace! - it was a most brilliant and moving night - the whole rainbow of emotions, sounds and colours - they light up your life, they really do!

I felt I will be able to get in but I was afraid that I would have to pay to some tout at the end, I'm sure they had to lower their prices as the time went.

It was amazing that some real fan offered me the ticket!

K so really all I want to talk about right now is the amazing concert I went to tonight. After we hurredly wrote our Duchess of Malfi papers, Kaycee, Meghan, and I hopped on the Picadilly line and headed away from all the Jubilee celebrations. We ended up at Arsenal, tickets in hand to go see Coldplay tonight at the Emirates Stadium. We stood in queue for about an hour and a half, then stood in the stadium for another hour and a half in the rain. After Rita Ora performed, the rain stopped. The next opener was Robyn, who looked quite a lot older in real life. She was also a lot wierder. She definitely had a lot of energy though.

 

So I have been looking forward to this concert ever since I found out I was coming to London. I bought the tickets the first week I was here, and I have been so excited for today! It was so worth it. We ended up very close on the side. I am usually pretty ok with being short, because then I can get other people to get things off shelves for me and I never have to worry about being taller than the guys. But being in a standing pit when view is on the line is kindof a problem. I was on my tiptoes the whole time and trying to look through gaps in the crowd, but the good thing was that I could slip into small spaces in the crowd, enabling me to get to the very front on the side stage. I was about 20 yards or so from the center of the stage, but when they came out on the side stages, I was only about five feet away. I was five feet away from Chris Martin! Ahh!

 

The concert was amazing. The crowd was enormous and the stadium was completely packed. We were so lucky to get such good seats (stands? We stood in the pit). The band was so energetic and happy to be there. They loved what they were doing and so did we. We melted when Chris Martin dedicated Yellow to his wife, Gweneth Paltrow, and couldn't stop screaming during Charlie Brown, when the wristbands we were wearing magically lit up and formed a lightshow of their own. There were fireworks, giant screens, blow up/light up things, and gigantic bouncy balls. They sounded amazing live, and the sound was so great. I couldn't believe how much energy they had. They definitely gave us a show, without ever taking the easy way out.

 

I am so in love with their music. Unlike so many mindless songs nowadays, their music has thought provoking lyrics, interesting concepts, and artful instrumentalization. The rhythms, melodies, and beats are so different! I also love that they have developed and grown over time as a band, but still have the same character and distinct style. It is nice to be able to listen to a band that has clean music, a clean image (Chris Martin doesn't smoke or drink, and he is married with two kids), is incredibly good at what they do, and loves doing it! Of course, seeing them in their hometown was amazing. I could tell it felt like home to them and I think it made them give an even better performance. Ah. I could have watched them for 5 times as long as they were there. Such an awesome evening! I've been to so many shows here, but this was the first that we could just relax, jump up and down, and scream as much as we wanted to. And it was Coldplay. Goodness.
