Will Champion and Jonny Buckland took to the stage to accept the award (where was Chris Martin?) and said: “I would like to thank a few people without who our live show would certainly not be award winning…” After running through managers, record label and behind-the-scenes folk (we’re not really sure who they are), Will added: “Most importantly anyone who came to our shows. They were really the people who made our shows enjoyable and memorable so thank you very much.” Coldplay beat off tough competition from The Rolling Stones, Muse, Mumford & Sons and The Vaccines to take to the title. The British band have enjoyed incredible success throughout the years, with their live shows winning praise from fans and critics alike.
