Just remembered something.. I think it was during the last leg of the MX tour wherein Chris said that they'll take a break from touring for three years. That's quite accurate because they did not launch a world tour for Ghost Stories. And if my calculation is correct, that break will end on the last quarter of the year (bec. they cancelled tour dates for Latin America back in 2013).

Wow... now that is interesting. It would mean that they already had an idea of what they wanted to do two albums in advance!

I think it's about time isn't it? And if they are indeed filming, the first official news about the album proper is just around the corner (be it the first single, or a teaser, or artwork, or track listing).

Ehh, even the person who tweeted all of that admitted it's only speculation for now... but it would be pretty cool if it did happen!

 

As for myself, I'd love it if the first single is initially released to the world as a video. The Midnight video did a lot for our perception of the song and was essential for someone first listening to it.

 

On another note, Anton Corbijn really needs to film a Coldplay video again during this era!

^i disagree. Coldplay's record of having terrible videos ( at least recently) is one of the top things that bug me about the band. Not a fan of Anton's work on his version of viva either....

Oh. I didn't initially watch the Midnight video, I just listened to it in the context of Ghost Stories. Watched the video much later and didn't like it that much, tbh.

you can tell the anon is bullshit by looking at the post history.

 

First they give a whole outlook from August onwards to end of this year. The contents of which dont make sense. "Live début of new single at Global Cit gig" when its AFTER the iHeartRadio gig, which an "industry insider would've know about".

 

Following this 'news' they say they dont wanna say too much for fear of being exposed. This is just a cop out because they actually don't know jack shit. They already said plenty by leaking the single release, album release, and tour info, if it even turns out to be true.
