jc90
NOVEMBER 6TH, WE KNOW EVERYTHING! WHAT WE KNOW -This is an introduction to the album (with lots of good nuggets of info) posted in coldplay.com http://coldplay.com/new-album-a-head-full-of-dreams-out-december-4/ - -LP7 has been in the works since at least summer 2014 -A global tour will follow (dates still unconfirmed [see WHAT IS LIKELY tab]) -Rik Simpson continues his role as one of the producers -Davide Rossi working in studio with the band -He is providing strings and horns for the band - -The band were shooting something (a music video it appears) in Mumbai, India -It appears that Brinton Bryan directed the video -Photos from the MV shoot also gives a good idea as to the what the wardrobe is of this era -The band are working with producers Stargate -At least one collaboration -Release date window: Q4 2015 - Q1 2016 -UPDATE: multiple reports point to December 4th being the album release date. Official word from the band is yet to come. -Stadium tour tentatively set for summer 2016 -A member of ColdplayFrance visited The Bakery and saw Phil who said they'd be touring France before the end of the year. From this we can guess that a tour would start before then as well as the album release itself. -Synths will continue to be used in some capacity -Some of the places where recording is reportedly being done are in Malibu, Los Angeles, Studio C at Henson Recording Studio and Air Studios in London -A new song called ' ' was played during soundcheck before the Global Citizen show. It was made its live debut at the end of their set later. -Xylobands will once again feature on the tour -Indian style in terms of visuals and/or music -Session singer Merry Clayton could make a contribution -Lee Thompson (music editor) tweeted this which appears to be artwork related to LP7 with the date December 4 on the bottom of it. A similar logo appeared on Chris's shirt during his 2 appearances in the new era. Since then multiple sightings of the poster in different locations have appeared. No official word from Coldplay regarding this poster, but fans have reported Will and Jonny replying with a 'maybe'. -First set of lyrics with unknown fate -In a series of tweets on the week of November the 2nd Coldplay seemingly reveal what could be some artwork for the era -In one of these tweets, some audio that could make its way on LP7 is heard WHAT IS FALSE -The band is splitting up after this album -This will be on LP7 (proof) -The song 'Lamhein', which showed up on the song registry, is a recreation of the song 'Paradise' which won't be on the new album

jc90
But, right now there is only one fact I could point out... "A Head Full of Dreams" maybe? Waiting for the second fact... I see your point and it speaks to how little we actually DO know. But we can also use this thread to debunk the things that are out there. For example, the collaborations that are apparently in the next album. Some are suggesting that it will happen. But the best i've heard to support this is that Coldplay are working with other people. Nowhere did I read that it was for LP7. Another example are festivals dates. We just got a lovely quote yesterday from Guy saying they would like to play Glasto but they have to get the album done first....
Coeurli
I think that from the last few days we can easily deduce that Chris won't be allowed much interviewing (alone) until the release
jc90
Just compiling a list now. I don't have too much yet. It may even be better if users go ahead and ask if a statement is true or false. What I have so far: -Next album is tentatively called "A Head Full Of Dreams" (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq-K93obyE4) -LP7 has been focused/worked on since at least summer 2014 if not earlier. -Unlikely to be the last album by the band. The clarification came from both Chris and Guy in separate interviews where they meant to say they view this as the last album in a theme. The next album (if there is one) will be a start of a new direction (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qykgQTsrqlw) -LP7 Tour/Festivals Appearances: in the above interview with Guy and Jonny on BBC, Guy responds to a question about Glastonbury 2015 appearances (late June 2015)...Guy says Glasto is unlikely and by extension, any shows before then since they are gonna be working on the album -About when the album will come out: Guy and Jonny both say there is an internal deadline but Jonny says the band's track record with deadlines isn't very good. The best they gave us in that interview is 'by the end of 2015'. If its by the end of 2015 and after Glasto, we're looking at a window of Q3, Q4 2015 and Q1 2016. -Related to touring, the band have said (source missing) that a tour will follow that will see the band visit many places. -The band is working collaboratively with other artists (Rihanna being at least one of them), but the results of those sessions and their ultimate fate on LP7 is unconfirmed. However, Chris says there will be at least one song featuring another artist, at least he hopes (http://fresh1027.cbslocal.com/2014/08/07/chris-martin-talks-coldplays-plans-and-studio-time-with-rihanna/) -I get a little fuzzy after this point. I think something small was said about the type of album, but I dont remember in the 90 pages of the LP7 thread if it was a direct quote or a user's hopeful thinking. I have since found the quote, but its a bit of a stretch for me to label it as fact. -Some random articles/interviews here http://www.coldplaying.com/7th-coldplay-album-completion-of-story/ http://www.coldplaying.com/coldplay-recording-next-project-new-tour/
jc90
So the first post has been updated as far as my memory serves me. Now I'd like to call upon others for help. I was looking at my statement under "Myths/What we don't know and I think it needs revising. What do we know about the style of LP7? Alls I can say for sure is Jonny said Ghost Stories is the night to the day (of LP7). And also Chris said (and Guy after) that LP7 will be the end of a story (like Harry Potter). I would say its implicit that they are treating LP1-LP7 as a series with LP7 as the 'final chapter' of a common theme among the 7 albums. I hope im not overreaching in saying LP7 will be themed in just about the same way as the previous work. I'm just a bit unconvinced because I don't really see LP4-LP6 as being quite the same as LP1-LP3. The band have said (during LP4 promotion) that they treated LP1-LP3 as a trilogy and LP4 as something new, so there's some ambiguity in that.... ^that's just what I think. Perhaps there's a quote im forgetting somewhere that can make sense of it all. I hope a user can come and pool their knowledge here, 'cause its starting to become a shit show over in the other LP7 thread with Miracles. gai
their record deal is up. could be a big change of direction after that. and chris said that coldplay will be out of a job soon in one of the bbc interviews last week, meaning the record deal is up. jc90
Just thought of this; we will probably see a song called 'A Head Full of Dreams' as well.
The Philosopher
^ I also thought of this when I first saw this post. I forgot to say it. And of course, we will probably see a song with a colour in the title too.
jc90
^ except we didn't see one with GS (no, midnight does not count, and the oracle suggested Charlie BROWN didn't/shouldn't even count)
The Philosopher
^ Yeah, the oracle denied it, but I still think those ones are colour names. Yes, even Midnight. Come on, if we think about it... Yellow, Green Eyes, White Shadows, Violet Hill, Charlie Brown, Midnight (Blue?)... It seems like everything is made on purpose. Someday I would like to see black, grey or red (or some variation of one of these colours)

You can make the case that Charlie Brown, though not in context, is a colour. But Midnight? Iunno about that. Anywho, I'll refrain from putting a 'colour song' in the first post, but i'm stil debating whether to put 'A Head Full of Dreams' as a likely song. Speaking of, I recall someone finding a new song being entered into the artists' song registry thing some time ago. Once I find that link, i'll put it in the first post as well. jc90
Sorry for the triple post but I figured I might as well post the link to that registry and how to use it. https://www.ascap.com/Home/ace-title-search/index.aspx Click link>Click 'Writers' tab>Type 'William Champion' and search>Click him> And there's everything Will has written apparently. Just looking now, i'm seeing quite a bit of stuff I havent seen before and some very obscure songs I've only seen from screenshots of when Coldplay were on '60 minutes' and what not. The following are songs I havent even seen before: Autodance Bridge Over You Deserter Drift Fingers Crossed In Isolation Julens Ljus Papa Part of the Plan Reprenons du Depart Shooting Star Should I Go Sida Vid Sida Everything else is either something we all know, are have shown up in some capacity before

jc90
^ahh, that just jolted my memory. okay, so we're left with: Bridge Over You Drift In Isolation Julens Ljus Papa Part of the Plan Reprenons du Depart Shooting Star Should I Go Sida Vid Sida I think I heard of Drift before (but I thought it was 'drifting' as I remembered it) FYI, Sida Vid Sida in Swedish is Side by Side says google translate. I thought it was something to complement Viva la Vida actually lol

I thought it was something to complement Viva la Vida actually lol Ha, I thought the same! From what I remember someone else here saying, any song with a Work ID starting with 88 is from MX and beyond. It doesn't necessarily mean it's a Coldplay song, but rather releasing in that time frame. (But I could be wrong.)

(But I could be wrong.) you are right. look for the most recent id numbers. since miracles, the only new song registered is Radio Dial Waltz in B minor. most of the unheard of previous registrations are from songs by other artists that sample coldplay songs.
