Coldplay memories

Featured Replies

At the end of this year, which was the best thing related to Coldplay that happened to you?

Buying the tickets for the concert in Mexico. It'll the first time I'll see them!!!

Getting up in the middle of the night for the AOAL and AHFOD releases!

First time listening to Prospekts March/Poppyfields.

Oh and also watching the pre-AHFOD concerts, waiting for a new song, trying to take any hints from the concert, I forget, did anyone mention the flower of life as a possible album cover or a part of it around the time of GC before we even got officially teased with it?

No we all thought it would be the painter's color triangle. I'm still wondering what happened to that because I thought it looked pretty cool!!

Edit: Oh I just thought of something!! The color triangle might make a comeback in the HFTW video because Chris was wearing a badge with that design while in India!

Joining the forum. (does that count?)

Best thing ever or best thing this year? :)

Nah best thing ever was seeing Coldplay live for the first time. I was in a different world, it was crazy. I still have the moment Chris sauntering onto the stage with his Viva jacked vividly in front of my eyes. It's practically seared into my brain. Just thinking about it makes me go all still and excited inside :wideeyed:

^^ Hehe nice memory :) So I assume the thread asks about best Coldplay moment this year?

Ok that would have to be the first time I listened to AHFOD, holding the vinyl so colourful and reading the lyrics for the first time. It was a very emotional and wonderful moment for me. The songs, the lyrics, the packaging even, the colours, everything was so well done and resonated so much with me I remember thinking "wow this is such an amazing early christmas gift!" .

And it turned out to be extra special because I had no more gifts this year and I really did not celebrate christmas on christmas day, so that day will always be Christmas 2015 for me :)

Listening to AHFOD for the first time! Such a good album and just what I needed in that moment : )

The first time I heard AHFOD I didn't like it so it isn't a great memory. Hymn For The Weekend was one of those songs that disappointed me the first time, now it's one of my favorites and I really like the album. But as @AMDB9 said, waking up very early to listen to AOAL was fantastic. I love it! It has such a good energy that I didn't feel tired that day. Instead I felt full of energy!

Oh thats a nice memory about Adventure! I have a similar experience to Adventure as you did to Hymn. I listened to it the first time at around 2 am US time and I was probably the most depressed I´d been in ages, I was pretty much torn apart and heartbroken, so I barely registered the song when it played, even if I listened to it several times. I was just too numb to let anything in, so not a good memory. But now the song is one of my favourites ever! :)

Nice! It's a really good song. I'm glad you didn't associated it with a sad memory. Perhaps the feelings this song gives help you to deal with that :)

Absolutely. This song totally helped me out of that situation and still does. Not only the music but the lyrics were spot on resonating with me, so it has turned into a great memory! :)

Lovely memories in here. :) So mine for 2015 would be (no particular order):

1) Listening to AOAL about 40 times on its release date and being so happy that the boys are back and that a tour is impending, where I would be able to sing along to the woohoos from the top of my lungs.

2) Enjoying AHFOD in its entirety for the first time shortly after midnight on Dec 4 lying in bed with my headphones. Such an amazing experience! I can still feel the moment of Chris ending with, "Don't ever give up", and thinking that this is my band.

3) Winning tickets for Offenbach and that smile:

When I heard they were going to perform at St.John church a night before my birthday,it was like they were connected to me,

when I saw the first performance of Up&Up at Belasco Theatre it was one of the best feelings of my life...!

Having Chris take my phone at the Belasco and try to take a selfie. [emoji23] it didn't really work but having him reach out to me was just the best moment. Also when I met Phil for the first time and he said he liked me. [emoji7]
