The I RAN AWAY Project - Bringing I Ran Away live to the AHFOD Tour 2016 !

I don't know the policies on YouTube.

Maybe you can make screenshots, or use just a small piece of the video.

I will look into that, thanks. I do know that news stations sometimes use Youtube videos from incidents or warzones and write the username of the owner in a corner, so perhaps it is possible...

Here is a little teaser for the I Ran Away Project Video, as it currently is...to keep you excited :D

- Its central theme is motion (I always thought of the song as something related to travel, moving, leaving places, mixed with a bit of nostalgia and melancholy)

- it combines the AROBTTH black and white scheme with AHFOD's colour spectrum

- a lot of the video is abstracized

- stars, birds and one more thing that will be a surprise feature in it

- it clearly contains our message

I don't know the policies on YouTube.

Yes, YouTube videos are subject to copyrights. You did the right thing seeking permission, Nie.

I have a visual idea that combines the two eras. It's rattled around in my head for awhile, but I haven't had time (and don't have the visual editing skills) to create it, so I'll have to explain. Simple: A Rush of Blood to a Head Full of Dreams. Take the ARROBTTH graphic and have the balloon coming out of the top of it...something like that. I'm sure one of you artistic-types can create this!

Cool idea, can someone create that ?

It would be even better if they could should motion, with balloon rising out of the head!

This discussion sparked my creativity. It gave me a similar idea involving combining the two eras... It's not too late to submit artwork right? :D

Not too late ! It should come in before the 19th of May though, if possible ! :)

Here it is, the first version of the I Ran Away Project video:

Mobile Link: https://vid.me/4RTE

I have uploaded it in mediocre quality to save uploading time since this is not yet the final version, so don't worry about the resolution - it will be HD in the final version. Please watch it and give me feedback ! Especially, take note of the following aspects:

- Does the video suit the vibe, feeling and rhythm of the song ?

- As a participant or supporter of the I Ran Away Project, do you feel this video adequately represent our request ? Would you stand behind it, or do you have trouble identifying with the video ?

- Does the video manage to hold your attention over the entire 4 minutes, or is there a point when it gets boring ?

- Do you feel the video draws attention away from the actual vocals, or do sound and image harmonize ?

EDIT: By the way, I am really nervous right now about what people will think. The audio was pretty straightforward, but for the video here I had to let myself be guided by my own visualizations and imagination for the most part (except for the amazing artwork which you all contributed), so the result could be loved or hated by the rest of you and at the moment I don't know which it is gonna be.

That is how the guys must feel immediately before they release a new album or single !!

I had a quick look on my way to work.

Looks very good!

The only remark that I would have is the plane that is in the beginning of the video.

It is flying from right to left and to me that lpoks like it is flying towards me instead of away.

Don't know if you can flip it around?

Will try to have a closer look on it later today.

Edit: in Windows movie maker you have a function to mirror it horizontally. I have tried it and I think it looks better going from L --> R. ( I know I'm fussy [emoji3] )

I really like what you did!

I think the video fits the song pretty good, I especially like what you did with the colours!

I think it's great that you showed parts of a video of coldplay between the lyrics at the end, this way it doesn't get boring.

Did you film all the footage yourself?

Maybe I could try to do that!

Should I use the artwork from AROBTTH or the one from The Scientist single?

And which hot air balloon? I could use the one I've drawn at the beginning of this project (with "#IRanAwayLive2016" on it) or the original from coldplay (I don't know about copyright though). Or I could use the one I've drawn for the Coldplaying Chorus Project.

I'm also not too good at making films/animated pictures, so maybe I could make the separate pictures and someone else could put it together?

I don't know, what did @iamsue have in mind ?

Thanks. The plane is actually completely parallel to the observer, and the camera is just zooming in (so there is actually no motion coming nearer or going farther away), but I see what you mean. The problem with the plane is that you can only do one effect at a time in Windows movie maker. So if I wanna keep the colour effect at the end, I will have to flip the plane movie in another program first and then import it, I guess ? I can try that.

Did you film all the footage yourself?

Thanks. Yes, all the footage is filmed by myself (including the one of the band :D). Years of filming random things in my life seem to finally pay off now ! :D

The issue what "bothers" me is that the plane is so close at the left side, not so much that it is flying to the left.

Which program do you use to make your video? I suppose it are all short clips added together?

I have some video editors at my laptop @home. I'll see if there is one that can do it for the whole plane part.

I just had time so I decided to use the artwork from the Scientist single as it fits better for something "coming out of it".

As I said I'm not good at putting pictures together into something moving without it jumping too much...

But maybe you can put it together right in the video @I ran away

I don't think the pictures are in the right order in the folder but I actually named them from 1 to 15 so it's easier for you to know the right order.

@iamsue let me know if this is about how you imagined it! (As far as you can tell without the pictures being put together)

Wow, this looks great to me !!! Single pictures are better than gifs etc. because my software doesn't support gifs, so it is just fine !

I know it is at the very left but this way you have more of the 'tail', which I think is beautiful. Anyway I cannot change the plane being close to either edge because the footage simply was taken like that :) I only have Windows Movie Maker at the moment. Let's see what we do about the plane....

I have checked but my software has a lot of effects but horizontally mirroring is not available. [emoji53]

Before you start on it, take a look on how it would be if the direction is changed.

I have done some editing and changeing and uploaded the result:

It really is done very quickly, just to give you an idea.

If you thinks it isn't worth it, leave it as it is.
