"True story (to attest to his niceness): When their third album was about to release, Martin was in NYC at the SoHo Apple (Computer) store where I worked. I was in a band and my manager at the time was a really sweet guy who used to try and promote everyone's outside projects to anyone who would listen. Martin was at the "Genius Bar" (repair bench) having a laptop looked at when my manager brought my out of my office to meet Chris. Embarrassed but happy to meet him, I shook his hand and told him I was a fan of the first album. He smiled and turned the laptop around that he was fiddling with and said "Been listening to YOUR work for the last 10 minutes...do you have a cd I could take with me?"...Apparently my manager had shown him my bands website. Now I don't pretend to think he actually did anything with the cd but I gladly rushed downstairs and grabbed one out of my bag, when I handed it to him he offered me $20...I said no no...and he said "mate, I asked! we all deserve to be paid for our work".....I again declined the money and after a few more mins of chit chat, I left and said thank you.

He was TRULY the nicest big name musician I've ever encountered. He didn't have to entertain my annoying manager nor did he have to ask for a cd...The fact that he saw another musician and was beyond civil to him as a peer made me respect him 10000000x more than I would have normally. Very decent guy."
