It's London's hot new celebrity hangout.

So it's no wonder singer Chris Martin wanted to check out the Chiltern Firehouse in the capital's chic Marylebone neighbourhood on Friday evening.

The Coldplay frontman was with his bassist Guy Berryman for the boys' night out.

Chris is newly single following his split from Gwyneth Paltrow, his wife of 10 years, in what they described as a 'conscious uncoupling.'

The 37-year-old went for rock star chic in a black leather jacket over a black T-shirt, black skinny jeans and black trainers.

The star sported a healthy growth of designer stubble as he walked next to Guy, who also donned a black leather jacket and jeans, but he added a blue check shirt.

 

 

 

 

While speculation about the cause of the split has been rife, Chris recently hinted that it came about because of his own issues.

Speaking recently on Australia's Seven Network's Sunday Night programme, he said: 'If you don't open yourself up then you can't appreciate the wonder outside.

'You can be with someone very wonderful and because of your own issues, I don't want to get too personal, you can not let that be celebrated in the right way.'

Chris Martin added credence to a recent claim that he and estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow still spend time together by doing just that in Brentwood on Thursday afternoon.

Wearing crash helmets and matching windbreaker jackets, the notoriously private couple hit the road on two Vespa scooters for an outing with their children, Apple and Moses - two months after announcing their decision to 'consciously uncouple.'

With Oscar-winner Gwyneth taking the lead, the family were hard to miss as they navigated the busy streets that wind around the wealthy Los Angeles district, pausing only for a red light at an intersection on Cliffwood Avenue.

Coldplay star Chris was taking a break from promotional commitments with his band following the release of their sixth album, Ghost Stories, on May 16.

 

Sporting a pair of Nike Jordan trainers, the songwriter appeared untroubled by the mixed critical response afforded their LP, which tellingly focusses on deeply personal themes of love, loss and longing.

In a video obtained by X17online.com, Chris recently admitted that he and Gwyneth still have to 'hang out' after being questioned about a recent dinner date with his estranged wife.

 

 

 

The 37-year-old was asked if the pair were back together, to which he replied: 'Why do you ask that? Oh, the other day? We've got to hang, you know.'

Chris and Gwyneth, 41, first announced their split in March but are still thought to be happily living together in their recently acquired $14 million Malibu beach house.

The couple enjoyed a dinner date on Saturday at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont, before driving away together in their Audi sports car.

The 37-year-old Coldplay frontman took Apple, nine and eight-year-old Moses to Reddi Chick in Santa Monica, California recently where they were spotted drinking sodas and eating fries, something Paltrow - who was spotted making a mad dash to catch her plane at JFK in New York on Wednesday - will not approve of.
