  1. ^ Grubby photo of guy looking  ... 8/10!
  2. All the Jonny people are so quiet... Most votes for him but judging by the replies you'd think nobody relates to him
  3. I could not agree with you more. That is absolutely dreadful. Hear hear! :smash:
  4. Have you seen it? Did you enjoy it? I actually wanted to go catch in when it first came out but was too busy then :( Is it good?
  5. ^ Is cute and sunny... And going to camp! :D
  6. Yellow :D "My head, just won't stop aching"
  7. ^ I thought "Yellow Submarine" was pretty good... I rather enjoyed it. Could be due to the novelty factor in their sound of course :) I like how ridiculous it is, never could take their songs seriously...
  8. Jonny! Quiet, reserved, and shy to most but actually quite friendly, with an offbeat sense of humour, and ever-supportive of close friends & family--> Me. And such care he takes not to overshadow the others when playing his guitar... Jonny=me... Me=Jonny... :o ...    (at the thought)
  9. Bacon's delish, I just had it for breakfast this morning- can still taste it in my mouth! Mmmm... :smug: What time is it there Laura? How many hours before breakfast? :D
  10. War of The Worlds 8/10 Fantastic Four 7.5/10 Batman Begins 9/10
  11. Thanks for that one yesterday... It's a painting by van Gogh, I'm planning to start a series for him... One every week or so (or maybe when my status changes) :)
  12. Country: Malaysia It's a multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-religious country... Three main ethnicities - Malay, Chinese, Indian, plus the indigenious people (aka Orang Asli)... These minorities number in the dozens (if not hundreds). We're friendly people, the country's a food haven and is (or at least was) the world's No. 1 producer of semiconductor chips :idea2:... ...:snore:  We also had the world's tallest building for a few years- the Petronas Twin Towers. Things to be proud of: We all live in peace despite our differences culturally, racially etc; and successfully overcame communist terrorists/guerillas that threatened to overturn the government and turn our country into a communist haven early on in our history when we first obtained independence. :smug: Interesting facts: We don't wear shoes at home, the Malays and Indians traditionally eat with their fingers, the Chinese have a special days to commemorate the dead and celebrate the August full-moon, while the indigenious people of Borneo have harvest festivals in May :o Or is that :dozey:... ... :snore: :D
  13. The Rock?!! Am I allowed another word? Curtains
  14. Where's My Boy - Coldplay
  15. I assumed bigger meant album sales + hit singles + airplay + popularity etc... with emphasis on media exposure since that's what rock music (as well as pop) is traditionally all about- who is the bigger loud-mouth / is more well-known / better accepted gets the bragging rights. On that count I'd say Coldplay are bigger, the reason being they're more adept with the media (and probably are more willing to promote and "sell" themselves).
  16. Congrats Daryl, a frequent and well-loved member of the board :D
  17. cant agree more! brilliant live, made the hairs on my kneck stand up! haha! loved it! Jonny never plays the guitars loud enough :wink3:
  18. It is so tender and intimate... Oh those good ol' days.
  19. I usually get why the band does stuff and where they're coming from but with X&Y this time round, I feel like singing TIDU back at them... I still can't understand why they say Fix You is great (ok, it's a good song but that organ... :/ ). Swallowed in the Sea... granted it has its merits and does give structure to the album, I still think its not that great a song. To build a spiralling melody that keeps going downwards ad infinitum is quite genius of them :idea2: but I still can't get over the fact that it's such a sing-a-long and also that it doesn't quite lead anywhere. On the other hand, Twisted Logic and the Hardest Part really add character to the album. This album needed the Hardest Part for that bit of unadultered sunshine or else it would've been :snore: Twisted Logic is just such a big step forward for them in terms of developing their lusher sound... those big, grand guitars and the build-up of the song are ace :D I like TIDU, but I'm not sure which song it should replace coz it does sound like White Shadows
  20. It's eery, but I had a dream with Chris in it once a few years back and it was the same atmosphere... I was backstage with Chris at another band's concert and we just sat there and sort of stared/drink in the atmosphere. But the silence was not akward though, it was like the most natural thing in the world... Like people who've known each other for years and at that moment they're sitting there savouring the atmosphere. The whole thing was so calm and soothing.. and I woke up feeling so relaxed and happy. The best part is, I hardly ever dream... So that was pretty surprising... And sweet :D
  21. How You See The World "This dream is for you..."
  22. I've been downloading and listening to songs off the Live8 site http://www.sonician.com/live8/list.html I'm amazed at the number of bands that were there and all the music that was played. I heard many bands for the first time and found myself liking their music. There were also many older bands which I got introduced to and their music really rocked. Of course there were bands that fell flat on their noses... So what did Live8 do for you musically? My socks were totally knocked off by Placebo and Velvet Revolver. Pink Floyd, the Who and Paul McCartney really rocked... Never knew "old geysers" like them could still pack it in  And finally got to hear other bands like Kaiser Chiefs, the Killers, and Jet live... they were really good :D What bands did you hear for the first time and which ones left you :stunned: (both the good and the bad)?
  23. Just a tip... You can move your mouse cursor above the flag... the country's name should pop up. I've seen some interesting ones... Micronesia, Jamaica...
