so while recently listening to "Yellow" i noticed that chris switches the lyrics. does he do this purposely or what? and i don't just mean when he adds lyrics like my love, which is amazing. Look at the stars Look how they shine for you And everything you do Yeah, they were all yellow I came along I wrote a song for you And all the things you do And it was called yellow the parts that are yellow is what he changes. he either switches them. or says one of them twice. so i guess my true question is does he forget the lyrics? or does he just change them for fun. i've listened to my 10 different versions of yellow and he changes the lyrics in 4 of them. fo…

It's such a beautiful song. I've only got that version where they talk over the top of it and you only hear a snippet of the song. It's not on iTunes and it seems like the hardest Coldplay song to find. If anyone knows where I can find it that would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hello everybody! This is my first time on this board, so please be gentle. I've been a longtime fan of Coldplay! I've seen them twice so far. The first time was at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, which I still remember after A Rush of Blood to the Head came out. It was utterly fantastic. They were intimate and confident and played both their singles and the stuff from their album that fewer probably listened to such as Green Eyes and A Rush of Blood to the Head. I loved it. Recently I made two shirts, one for my sister, and one for fun. I wanted to share them with you all if you were interested in getting something unique, and I think a little bit different, than wha…

  14. Last winter a young bluegrass group called the Abrams Brothers filed off their bus at the CMT offices after a long and snowy trip from their home in Canada. Groups or artists stop by and perform here once in a while, but this band of two brothers and a cousin was especially memorable. They were definitely a bluegrass group and had the type of chops that would be at home on the Grand Ole Opry stage — which they played in 2005 — but being teenagers, they were also very eager to experiment with the genre. One song in particular showed that — a well thought-out arrangement of Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida.” I’m glad to see that now they have a video to go along with the trac…

  15. Michael Jackson's London gigs could be replaced with a series of tribute concerts - with stars such as Justin Timberlake lined up to perform. Bosses at the O2, which had been due to host 50 Jacko dates, have started approaching artists to fill the gap. And they have been inundated with pleas from fans to stage tributes to the superstar, according to The Mirror. Top acts such as Coldplay and Take That are also understood to be among those approached. It is feared the promoters of the Michael Jackson gigs, AEG, will lose £12million already spent on production - and possibly tens of millions more. They are reported to have been unable to get insurance for at least 30 o…

  16. Once upon a time, the honour was undisputed. In the 60s, it was accepted that the Beatles were the world's greatest act. In the 70s, it was the Stones. In the 80s, it was U2's turn. Hindsight tells us, of course, that other acts had legitimate claims - James Brown, notably - but they were ignored by the white rock-and-pop establishment. And so the title of "the greatest" became a competition between a succession of guitar bands, even as guitar rock was being left behind as any sort of pioneering force within music. But, still, people understood what the title entailed: the acts hailed as "the greatest" were those who could make a crowd of 100,000 feel intimate, who had an…

  17. UPDATE: 30th JUNE 2009: For Chris Martin, the upbeat goes on (recent Coldplay Winnipeg article) An hour before showtime, Chris Martin lopes about the concrete backstage of Winnipeg's MTS Centre in cyan socks and baggy warm-up pants. All around him, roadies bark into headsets, and security guards clench their fists. He seems oblivious. A song is looping in his head – Nickelback's If Today Was Your Last Day – along with thoughts of Marco Polo, a recent obsession, writes The Globe And Mail. A week earlier, Forbes magazine had named Martin and his bandmates the world's most powerful British celebrities. Here in the home of the Manitoba Moose, the rock star appears d…

If your a football fan you no some of the best players in the world play for barcelona yes? Henry, eto'o, messi iniesta and xavi, well look what I bumped into today. Pep Guardiola – The 38-year-old Barca manager plays the Coldplay track 'Viva La Vida' to his players to help motivate them on away trips. Midfielder Xavi made the startling revelation, saying:“Viva la vida is a sophisticated piece of grandiose orchestration that motivates and gives us luck.” Team mate Dani Alves does not share this view, bemoaning: “That song does not motivate me because I do not understand what (Chris Martin) says.” As a united fan im sickened that this could hav helped barca beat us …

They are undoubtedly far and away the biggest band in the world no. It's official. U2 and Green Day haven't continued their successes of their last album, but Coldplay have. Surely the biggest means the best? Or does it? I see Coldplay's success is evidence of them being the best band in the world. A lot of ignorant fools out there dislike Coldplay because they here songs like Speed Of Sound or Viva La Vida and think... "blah!" What they don't realise is the higher standard of quality that lies beneath those songs in their respective albums. Sure SOS and VLV are the most striking on first listens, but for me what makes Coldplay the best band in the world is the sheer c…
