Here I go again, lol... As some of you might remember I asked for some pics of the live performances of this song for my college project. This time, I was wondering if you could give me some opinions on the song and what YOU think the songs and it's lyrics mean. thank you!!

AMHERST -- It's not the ideal basketball warm-up song, but if you searched the iPods belonging to the members of the St. Bernard's boys' basketball team chances are you'd find Coldplay's "Don't Panic" on a few. The Bernardians certainly didn't show any signs of nerves Wednesday evening, even when early foul trouble and a hot-shooting opponent threatened to put the brakes on the St. Bernard's Express. No, these Bernardians simply weathered the storm and when the dust cleared, the Bernardians stood with a ticket to the Division 2 state finals on the heels of a 65-50 triumph over Western Mass. champion Holyoke Catholic. The Gaels built an eight-point advantage ju…

California public radio station KCRW's video podcasts are like an indie rock antidote to American Idol. (kcrw.org/podcast). You may not be familiar with KCRW or its radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic, but chances are some song you love got played here first. The Santa Monica-based show is notorious for breaking new artists and is widely monitored by film industry types who crib its music for movies and TV programs. Because of the show's reputation, it is able to get live, in-studio performances several times a week by artists who live in Los Angeles or who are passing through the area. In January, KCRW began making some shows available via free video podcasts…

Also new for the Sunday, and opening the stage that day are Skyline Heroes, who are the winners of the high school Battle of Bands competions. Well, they say there's a post-partum (dunno on the spelling) depression after a woman has her dhild. But I was just wondering...does anybody else here suffer from Post-concert depression? I have been having a really rough time these past two days after the concert, everything just feels like shit. Before, I had the concert to look forward to, now...It's like there's this empty void inside of me. I mean, the concert was AMAZING, it blew me away and those 1.5 hours have been some of the happiest hours in my life and having a COLDPLAY concert be my first can only be compared to something around the lines of me some day loosing it to Brad Pitt  But now th…

Non-rock star rock stars Coldplay endear themselves with music, manner Way back at the turn of the century, a quartet of nice young working class boys, who met at the University College London, made an album called Parachutes featuring a catchy midtempo ditty with an earworm chorus that touted the emotional versatility of the color yellow. The band was called Coldplay and it specialized in pleasant, lilting melodies that seemed to easily slip back and forth between mournful and uplifting, punctuated with anthemic choruses worthy of U2. With the testosterone-fueled nu metal crowd near the top of the charts and Radiohead confusing fans with the prickly, electronic-lac…

IT took getting back to the bare bones of her craft - and treading the boards in front of live theatre audiences - to shake Gwyneth Paltrow out of her professional torpor. And if she ever needed proof that she still had an acting career ahead of her, she found it in the play of that name. After having won her Oscar for 1998's Shakespeare In Love, Paltrow says her professional life nosedived into a string of mishaps, misjudgments and misery. She won't name names, but she says the bad years ran from 2000 to 2004, a period covering clangers like Shallow Hal (2001), where she dressed up in a fat suit; a cameo in Austin Powers In Goldmember (2002); View From The Top (…

Concert promoters used to sell tickets at set-in-stone prices - even if those prices went up every year. But a new trend has artists and promoters forcing fans to bid on the best seats in the house - something they only experienced before from rogue Internet entrepreneurs or scalpers. Frustrated by the astronomical prices some Internet companies get for resold ducats, America's largest ticketing agency, Ticketmaster, has convinced top artists from Coldplay to Bon Jovi to use what they call "dynamic pricing." In this system, the most desirable seats are offered in timed auctions, with bids often opening above the face value of the ticket, then shooting north, b…

It's enough to leave record-label executives trembling: researchers in Sweden are developing an application that could allow music to be sent wirelessly from one mobile device to another. It's a concept that threatens content owners' rights and, especially, revenue, just as illicit internet file sharing does. The Push!Music prototype being developed at the Future Applications Lab at the Viktoria Institute in Sweden is a mobile, peer-to-peer (P2P) music-listening and sharing application that runs on Wi-Fi-enabled devices. It allows users to "push" music to others in the area. In effect, you are opening your mobile music collection to others. It's a digital rights manage…

Have just found a website which lists album charts around the world, and am finding it highly interesting. http://allcharts.org/music/world/albums.htm Why is Crazy Frog higher than Coldplay in Canada? Coldplay are beating James Blunt in Belgium, hurrah!!! Obviously some of the albums have been on the chart longer than others, X&Y was released 40 weeks ago!!!, but even so its quite interesting to see which countries are buying what.

You’d be pretty happy if Yao Ming represented your brand, wouldn’t you? One of China’s most recognised and loved celebrities, and one of the few with global visibility as a basketball player for the Houston Rockets. So, if you were Gatorade’s marketing team and Yao was waving your beverage on posters across China, you deserve a pat on the back, right? Except Gatorade’s not the only brand Yao’s fronting. He has also appeared in ads for Mc-Donald’s , Reebok, Tag Heuer, Apple, China Unicom (mobile network), Sohu (web portal ), Garmin (GPS services) and Upperdeck (trading cards) in the past year. Some are one-offs , others are longer-term , but the overall effect is t…

BEN Harper does not give good phone. Having enjoyed all manner of intense, funny and philosophical conversations with the roots rocker over the years, you can understand the shock when Harper loses it. Maybe he's having a bad day – who would enjoy doing 10 phone interviews in a row? Maybe he doesn't want to talk about his recent marriage to partner Laura Dern – also understandable. So Harper has a spit about his state of mind and the kind of questions he is copping from the Australian interviews and after a deep intake of breath, we agree to start again. Harper will release his sixth solo studio album, Both Sides of the Gun, on Saturday. It comprises tw…

Fiddler/pianist Troy MacGillivray is known for playing old-time, traditional Celtic music. But that doesn't mean he doesn't switch on MTV or hit an HMV record shop once in awhile. "For sure I do," MacGillivray said. "I usually listen to everything. I've always got lots of CDs with me when I'm traveling around. I'm really into the Dave Matthews Band right now. Jack Johnson, Coldplay - I do find that there are little things and tunes from that music that also show up in my work. It just kind of comes out of you." MacGillivray will stop in Victoria as part of the Pondside Music house concert, at 426 Kilver St. in Esquimalt, this coming Monday. He will also teach a fidd…

I think when they debut their new album and play it live on tv for the first time, Chris will have his old look, and possibly I think the band may wear all white but thats my prediction. Remember MTV's Coldplay Live Leak for X&Y? THAT WAS BRILLIANT.

Dinners, concerts and even some salmon. Now and again, a policeman's lot is not so unhappy. The PSNI only introduced a register for the receipt of hospitality and gifts last April - years after many other public bodies. Entries for Chief Constable Sir Hugh Orde were kept from the start of 2005, in advance of the new policy taking effect. There were four disclosed cases of Sir Hugh accepting hospitality from the private sector during the year. Three were for concerts at the Odyssey, courtesy of the centre itself, and the fourth was for a dinner from HP Ireland. Two of Sir Hugh's Odyssey concert nights were just before Christmas - December 21 and December…
