ERICA: Greg and I went to see Coldplay this weekend and I cried. It was an eighth grade, passing notes in class, TLF kind of moment, but I cried nonetheless. Five years ago I moved here to NYC from LA and made my way to the east coast with two friends on a crazy cross country trip. We brought a ton of music with us, but wound up basically listening to Coldplay's Parachute album on a constant loop for six days. Some people get super duper sick of an album after that much listening, but I swear if I could have dated an album, Coldplay and I would have been going steady for shizzle. I spent the next six months trying to find a job, an apartment and some friends...and the…

Here's the link (it deals with them buying mango trees in India to offset the carbon released by all the production associated with aRoBttH). I love these boys... http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1176989,00.html And if that doesn't work, here's the (relevant) text: When Coldplay cut A Rush of Blood to the Head, the rock band didn't want the album's production and distribution to add to the greenhouse gases flowing into the atmosphere. So, working with a small British firm, the CarbonNeutral Co., the group bought 10,000 mango trees for villagers in Karnataka, India. Since plants breathe in carbon dioxide as they grow, Coldplay figures the ma…

LONDON (Reuters) - The Beatles and Apple Computer Inc faced off in court Wednesday in a trademark dispute triggered by Apple's move into the music business through its iTunes download service. Apple Corps Ltd., owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and the estate of George Harrison, has sued Apple Computer (Research) twice before over the companies' competing fruit logos. The latest settlement in 1991 resulted in a $26 million payment by Apple Computer and an agreement to limit the use of the Apple trademark in the music business. Apple Corps claims that Apple Computer's use of its trademark in advertising and software for the iTunes Mu…

ok, so I know that it's been somewhat confirmed by the band that they are NOT breaking up, but then why the misleading speech? They have explained that they are not splitting, but then haven't explained what the speech meant. Seems fishy to me!

As the birth of Chris Martin & Gwyneth Paltrow's baby comes ever closer, the media speculation about the baby's name is growing. The baby's new name was previously revealed as Mortimer, with more & more of the world's media reporting the same quoted source. Today, the Sydney Morning Herald reports that the celeb couple have chosen another name for their new baby. "In other inane news, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have moved on from naming offspring after grocery produce and found inspiration in fictional flying midgets. Paltrow has reportedly settled on "Tink", as in Tinkerbell from Peter Pan, for the name of their second baby." Sydney Morning Heral…

here's an interesting (this time positive) article: I wish I could start my article on Coldplay by talking about how much I know about music, and how Coldplay is a generic rock band that has somehow made it big through good looks and major-label support. But as Coldplay’s “Swallowed in the Sea” eases its way through my fluffy headphones, I slowly come to the realization that I can’t trash them. I smile wide as I catch myself trying to find something wrong with the track. Unfortunately for me, I can’t find anything wrong. In three minutes and 59 seconds, I hear excellent group chemistry, decent technical skills, catchy songwriting, and, most importantly, musical intensi…

Intent on making her children's lives miserable, Gwyneth Paltrow plans to name her son Mortimer, after her godfather Steven Spielberg. Paltrow, who already has a daughter, Apple, with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, refers to Spielberg as "Uncle Morty." some Gwynetn & Apple pics: http://www.idontlikeyouinthatway.com/2006/03/gwyneth-paltrow-is-cruel.html personally i think it's aaaah....an awful name,it's a like a little devil :/ another source: http://thebosh.com/archives/2006/03/gwyneth_to_name_baby_mortimer.php

On the brink of topping the American Billboard Hot Dance Play Chart today is Mink, who is in the number two slot followed only by Coldplay's "Talk." Other than the fact that Mink had enjoyed airplay in Japan, where she debuted, little had been known of her. However, the newcomer's song "Glory of Life" is one of the most played songs on the U.S. club scene. It turns out, though, that Mink is a 22-year-old Korean. She is currently signed with Japan's recording powerhouse Avex Trax. According to a press release issued by Avex and distributed by local SM Entertainment Tuesday, Mink went to Japan in her early teens to study and landed a contract with Avex, one of the wor…

I don't mean to offend anyone with this thread, I am a diehard Coldplay fan bla bla bla...but I didn't like any of the videos form X&Y so far. Speed of sound wasn't so bad but there are so many videos shot at the same place (I think the last one I saw was one by Yellow Card) it's not original. Then Fix You...(I'm gonna have lots of new enemies because of this)...I hate that song. And the video it's not much better. Talk was a little funny but the idea was really weird. And The Hardest Part is just BIZARRE. They're a well known band with fans all over the world and lots of money and fame, can't they put a little thought into making the videos? I think the last good v…

We all think every Coldplay song should go to number 1,but if you had to choose one song that really really should have been a number 1 which would you choose????Although my favourite Coldplay song is God Put A Smile Upon Your Face,I think Speed Of Sound really should have went to number 1. Thanks for listening. Bohs Man. P.S. I cant put every single as an option because the maximum allowed in a poll is 10.

so ok. we have all seen it, and still trying to believe it. but somehow, this video made me figure out another possible meaning behind THP. :stunned: it could easily be about the price of fame, its worth it, yet very painful. X&Y. call me crazy, lock the thread, whatever...i just have to post this. "The Hardest Part" And the hardest part Was letting go, not taking part the hardest part is to let go of what is said in tabloids, its easier to just complain... Was the hardest part And the strangest thing Was waiting for that bell to ring the start of their career, was the strangest moment in their lives, because it was su…

Coldplay Fan Cam Contest Diary (525 total words in this text) (13 Reads) Ok.. so I was the “big” winner of the Fan Cam contest by Global Canada and EMI Records. Day 1 March 21 We get to Toronto (four hour flight). Nothing special happens. Day 2 March 22 (Show Day) 2PM We meet with the record companyy reps in the hotel lobby where they tell us: It is an unprecidented event. We will have a meet and greet with the band. We will be taking cabs (at their expense) to the venue from the hotel. It will be an unforgettable event for us. We will have front row or possibly pit passes 7:30PM We meet with the reps again..they ask us if we are ok with walking to the …
