http://rapidshare.de/files/9909622/Thomas___me_-_Born_To_Mourn__live_.WAV.html The first time ever we played one of our (few) songs in public. It's only our guitarist on acoustic guitar, and me singing. you can skip the first and last minute, you'll hear only chatting. Oh and the song is quite depressing, but I'm not always like that ;)

I am sure I will get flake for this.. but the biggest disappointment this year was Coldplay - X&Y.

Sorry if this has already been posted before, I've got a fair slice of the glast 2005 set now from various sources on mp3, but im missing politik (which i must say totally moved me while i was stood in that field). Can't find it on torrents or p2p, so if anyone has a copy I'd really really appreciate it!

It seems to be cool to be depresses nowdays, wether you really are or not. But regardless, keeping an optimistic attitude will do you good, so this is my humble contribution. Post the your favorite positive song of the moment. Gorillaz~ rock the house

  11. Poverty is very awful especially in Kenya i've been there and i've seen it. What is worse is a child dying every minute of malaria. Because of the poverty they can't get the antibiotics to treat malaria. But you can help to fight malaria. MOSQUITO NETS are the most efficient and easiest way to prevent malaria. Please see my website http://www.worldswimformalaria.com/kerribovey to see how you can help. 1 net is £3 and can save up to 3 small childrens lives. If music can raise money then i'll try anyway I can to help this cause.

I know that there is the worst covers ever... Now it is time for the BEST In my opinion, some of musicians best works are cover songs. Partially because they put so much passion and work inot a cover. Since usually it is a tribute or a favorite song so it is something they love. some of my favorites are: -The Smashing Pumpkins - Landslide (Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nick's cover) -Fiona Apple - Across the Universe (The Beatles cover) -Nick Drake - Don't Think Twice, It's Alright (Bob Dylan cover)

  13. Do some of you like Metallica, then listen to Josh Groban? lol...I don't, just using it as an example. I'm a huge dashboard confessional fan, but am a huge coldplay fan. What are some weird favorite band combo's you all have?

I was just wondering if anyone of you knows a website that offers pictures of the several Live 8 concerts and the bands' performances (and especially Coldplay's :wink3: )? I'm burning a DVD with my favourite performances at the moment and I want a really good cover, you know ;) So, if anyone of you knows a website with a good Live 8 gallery, I'd really appreciate it :D

OK, I realise I may get flamed for this but im going to hold my ground You guys know I am a Radiohead and Coldplay fanatic but I REALLY like her!!! not just in the obvious sense but her music is VERY good and she has a big part in writing the music too which gives her credibility. Her lyrics are very strong and its more than just pop music - its very tuneful If any of you have an open mind go find her album Let Go and give it a few listens because its excellent and her 4 b-sides are also extremely good if any-one wants to have a pop at me for admitting this then bite me :D

Thought I'd steal this idea from the official board and compare the results. And I figured putting this in the lounge would get the most replies. Post your top 10 albums from 2005. Your #1 pick gets 10 points, #2 9, etc... You can't include any albums from 2004, and no live/greatest hits collections. You can only vote once, but you can edit your posts if you change your mind. If you put less than 10 albums (say only 3), the albums will only get 3, 2 and 1 point respectively. So be sure to pick 10! If you're unsure if the album was released in 2005 or not, you can check at http://www.allmusic.com/ and search for the album/artist. How does 2 weeks for voting so…

First off, I want to say hi to the board since I'm new and say that I love the band Coldplay. I'm so sad i missed them when they did the KROQ Acoustic Christmas but I heard it on the radio and it sounded like an awesome set. Second, I was wondering if there were any fans of the rock band RUSH? I love their work and style. My friend gave me an advanced copy of their latest dvd awhile back called "RUSH-R30" from umvd and it includes alot of great footage on it such as a high definition filmed Germany 2004 concert and interviews and other music of theirs done over the years. Here is a good article I found on the dvd if anyone wants to read it: http://www.noblepr.co.uk/Press_…

Thought it would be great to find out what 5 songs make you feel the most "emotional". I guess emotional doesn't have to be depressing, but I like depressing music. Here is my top 7 emotional songs at the moment in no particular order. 1. Tiny Vessels - Death Cab For Cutie / Transatlanticism 2. Out of Nothing - Embrace / Out of Nothing 3. Chances- Athlete / Tourist 4. See You Soon - Coldplay / Live 2003 5. Stay (Faraway, So Close!) - U2 / Zooropa 6. Try Again - Keane / 02 Live 7. Svefn-g-englar - Sigur Ros / A Byrjun

Here is something I found on Live 8 by writer Trent McMartin After watching the Live 8 concerts last month I was startled to notice the lack of American rock bands performing the event. I thought to myself they must have either turned down the invitation, couldn't fit on to any of the already full bills or there really are not any significant, with the exception of a few, American rock bands in mainstream music today. Linkin Park and the Dave Matthews Band performed in Philadelphia, Velvet Revolver in London and Audioslave and Green Day played Berlin. These are all current high selling American rock acts but the headliners of the day were the …

  24. Well I'm finally back on these forums, its been awhile but I'm glad nonetheless. Apart from various preperations that I have been taking care of in Ottawa, I will be heading back there the tuesday after next again to wrap up somethings so that all comes down to alot of flighttime and well I knew I was going to be spending less time here so I had to change a few things about my life and I had all this time to think of things and that can get really depressing especially when your in some airplane at night. Then this music came through the radio on my headphones and everything fell into perspective and the music was from a band called the Editors. I have to say they are my …
