here is an idea i've seen on a few other music forums. it asks for your favourite artist or band currently active. most of them dont have a specific criteria so i will make my own. CRITERIA Must have released a full length album under the bands name in the last 6 months or are set to release an album in the next month. Soundtracks, compilations or b-sides and rarities do not count. Nor do DVDs Must have performed a full concert in the last month or are scheduled to perform a full concert in the next month. TV Appearances, Charity concerts and other small performances do not count Must still be together. So if they have disbanded recently they do not count. NO COLDPLA…

I played a gig on Monday (2nd March) in Liverpool at a place called the Bar 3345 which is part of Parr Street recording studios (where Coldplay recorded bits of 'Parachutes', 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head' and one or two tracks for 'X&Y'). Anyway, the gig went really well and I spent the whole of last week rehearsing for it and I decided to film one of the songs I was practising. I posted an 8 track recording of me covering 'Viva La Vida' last year on the board but now you can actually see me playing it. In the video I'm using a loop pedal to layer all the parts up. ok so in the coldplay interview with ben jones they mention strawberry swing being influenced by a song called "the rock" by a band called delacota or de la cota or something like that...im not sure how you spell it. does anyone know where i can find this song? i found it once on youtube, but now trying to find it again it doesnt show up. thanks in advance! Spotify chiefs have warned users that the service has been hacked - with a group potentially gaining access to users' details including their email address, birth date, gender, postal code and billing receipt details. In a Spotify blog they assured users that credit card details would not have been exposed, as they were stored by a third party, but urged anyone who had signed up to the service before December 19 last year, and had not changed their password since, to change their password to thwart the hackers. I just discovered this really amazing duo from Hamilton, Ont. called Oceanship. If you like older Coldplay (AROBTTH era) and doves, I think you'll like these guys. You can only check out snippets on their site, but the snippets are usually half the songs or more, so you get a really good idea of their sound, and I think you can peview the whole album. My share, If any of you out there are into any music of the ages you might want to tune in a New York (60's artists) named Laura Nero who had Dusty Springfield kind of feel about her music, but all original. She wrote, sang and played piano like a heart breaker can. Another group I just love but they died young was The New Radicals, led by Gregg Alexander (another great talent). If you like Coldplay, you will probably like these two, maybe!
