This is a massive music poll held by Australia's main alternative music station Triple J. The station prides itself on focusing purely on alternative music and new up and coming artists. When I first heard "Yellow", it was when my best friend's band played it at a school talent show. Now whenever I hear it, it reminds me of that time and how great everything was then. Several other songs also have memories associated with them so whenever I listen to them, I am able to go back to that time and how I felt then. Hi everyone! I just wanted to tell you about this band I saw open for the Fratellis, as well as Filter (you might remember their song "Take My Picture"). They are a fantastic band reigning from Austin, Texas as well as Nottingham, England. They're songs are fantastic with great melodies, catchy riffs/choruses. They are also a great live band; very sexy, great stage presence. I can't get enough. They're debut album is solid, not a skippable song on there. I know this should be in the "Jeff Buckley" thread but i feel it needs more exposure.. Here's the story! (copied and pasted...thats why some bits might not make sense :P) Following the rather depressing news that this year's X factor finalist will be covering Leonard Cohen's beautiful 'Hallelujah,' I think everyone should download the Jeff Buckley version, instead of buying the inevitably soulless version churned out by Simon Cowell's Crimbo flash in the pan. I doubt this will work, but if I am willing to download this version the week the X factor version comes out, I hope others will too.
