Welcome back everyone! We have had over 2 days of downtime, mainly on the forums. This was initially due to a lag issue where a process in the database placed a huge load on the servers and while the forums and partially the main sites were offline, I decided to update much of the back end of Coldplaying with the help of our veteran (:P) technical admin, Stephen/tifosi who did a fantastic job. It was a major update that caused a lot of downtime but its one for the future server performance and better to get it out of the way with a few shows on the horizon! The multimedia month during August has ended and we now have lots of amazing new Coldplay multimedia on the forum and the great artwork that has been created. From today, I will be pushing the use of Tapatalk for Coldplaying. Their updates have been great lately and its much better to use now! Some of you use it already so have seen the updates (v5 a few months ago and now v5.1). You can browse the main site articles now, not just the forums :) There are no more Tapatalk logos or advertising in signatures or when sharing images. A massive thing Tapatalk also did was provide support on the ad side as it wasn't feasible to have a large amount of us on Tapatalk before as it wouldn't help with the server costs! There have been some changes to the forum structure. The most noticeable change is the How We See The World forum in general discussion. This is a merge of News and sports, Entertainment and arts and the Tech forum. There have been other small changes across the forums and certain sections have gone and threads have been moved around. There will be small changes happening still so you may see new stickies posted and some threads moved. There has been a lot of demand for the thanks button to return. The reason it went in the first place was when the forum was upgraded, it was incompatible with the new version and the person who made hasn't updated it in years. I have found a good replacement for it in the form of a thumbs up button! More compact, simply hover your mouse over the figure of likes for the post and you can see who has thanked you and in addition, the stats appear on your profile.

The new forum theme for the Ghost Stories era is now up and running. This is one of the changes I have been working on to get us ready for Ghost Stories and capture the spirit :P This will be the default forum theme. If you wish to revert back to the old theme you can select the drop down box at the bottom left on the page or if you want to change back to the original theme permanently if that is your preference (the VBulletin default), go to settings at the top > general settings on the left sidebar > scroll down to the bottom and its the last drop down menu, 'forum skin' and select VB4 default style although I hope you will enjoy this new theme more!
