i just tuned it down to low D because its supposed to be that way for a song i wanted to play....then i find out the tab is wrong :rolleyes: so i start tuning it back to E and it fuckin breaks. i didn't tune it too high, it wasn't even up to the way its supposed to be yet. and those strings are only a month old. :rolleyes: AND i either have to get the people at the store to fix it for me, which means i dont get to watch so i can learn to do it myself, and it costs $35 because they do the whole "makeover" thing instead of just changing the fuckin string, or i can wait almost 2 weeks for my teacher to show me how :rolleyes: :cry:

not "mess around" with them just tighten/loosen the screws? it won't do anything drastic will it? cuz like the first 2 strings are louder than the bottom 2

..As usual, i turned on my stereo and i was going to play along to the is this it album but then... whenever i played the E string, this weird sound came out of my amp. it sounded like a crazy distortion, but it was insanely high. I turned off my amp, tuned my bass using an electric tuner (just to make sure that everything was okay with my bass) and turned on my amp again, but the weird sound kept coming out whenever i played the E string... and all the other strings were sounding as good as before, so i kind of thought there was something wrong with my bass, so i tried to plug it in my friend's amp and it worked just fine. So hey, i'm guessing there's something wro…

my mom is always complaining to turn my bass down it's only a 100 watt amp and the dial is turned to 5 so technically its only 50 watts right? (i play with my stereo on full too) well i was playing along with'take it or leave it' - les strokes and she came in and i wanted to know just how loud it was... so i told her to put her finger on a fret and gave her my pick and i went outside and you could hear it... behold the power of bass

it smells like smoke damn i think the neck might be messed up the pickguard has different colored screws in it and it's like ahhh! but the top pick up is like indented or something like the whole half of the pickup is slanted what should i do? should i mess around with the screw or what? tom peed or david or someone smart help me out

I have a reallly good video of Chris playing the Scientist at a radio station. One chord eludes me, mainly because it seems to difficult to fret. First, retune high e to c. The first chord appears to be a Dm played at : c-0 B-10 G-10 D-12 A-12 E-10 - or - c-0 B-9 G-9 D-11 A-11 E-9 Is either chord correct and how can you fret this chord without muting the open c? to me it looks like pretty much the same thing except for a few differences. does anyone know the better of the two or something of the sort? the bassist for the strokes has the jazz bass... the bassist for coldplay has the precision bass... so im really torn between the too... ahhh the problems

it was totally cold yesterday, my hands were freezing, but i played the bass anyways. I was working on some strokes songs, and they're kind of fast, and i wasnt using a pick. and after 2 hours i stopped and went to my friends house, and when i tried to play the bass there, my fingers were hurting so freaking much, i jusr couldnt play the bass for more than 10 minutes. And when i woke up today they were still hurting. :/ STUPID fingers.

Wow.. If anyone has heard John Bonham's drum solo at the end of The Song Remains The Same version of Dazed and Confused... Wow Geez, especially watching it.

At the moment I've been playing Politik alot. That's song's just got such a beautiful, heavy, bassy feeling. I'm not sure how to describe it. Shiver's another favorite of mine. Also, if you haven't tried it before, I Ran Away is pretty fun to play.

the guy from the strokes, nikolai fraiture, has a wierd sound when he plays "12:51." anyone know what it is? he must be using some pedal... its too strong of a sound (whatever that means) to be playing at the end of the guitar (like the part farthest from the neck) but whatever does anyone else think his bass sounds different in this song?

So, what instruments do you have and what equipment (amps, distortion, etc.) do you use ? I use: Bass - Squier Precision fender, custom Amp - meteoro bass amp I also have a totally lame Casio keyboard and a Brekler acoustic guitar, but I dont play em very often. ok, here's my equipment. now post yours. :)
