Guy has a Fender Jaguar Bass!! (If you havn't seen it, it's visible in the promotion of 'Yes' on the German amazon). So yer...just thought I'd make a thread about it, cos I was excited! It looks really cool. I love how he and Jonny have put their own artwork on their basses. ...but Guy keeps his Precision clean lol.

Don't flame me too much, but I just listened to the full acoustic track of Lost, and almost immediately thought of this song ... especially the first few melodic lines, and the general progression. I played in a(crappy) version of Violet Hill on bass. You'd think I'd have... well this is kind of a lie. I've done Yellow and Til Kingdom Come acoustic before. But this is the first time I've recorded anything. I did "In My Place" earlier today on my lunch break: Clickity Here to take a gander ya'll... I realize my voice is awful. *shrug*

My band is attempting a cover of Sparks for an upcoming gig, and despite spending a ton of time fiddling with effects, I can't seem to get the mellow vibe of the electric guitar line. Short of buying a vintage Jazzmaster (which sadly is not in the cards for me), anyone have any ideas for effects etc? I have a reissue tele thinline and a reissue Strat and neither seems mellow enough no matter what I run them through (note that I'm not trying to get the exact coldplay sound here per se, just trying to find something close, but nothing sounds anything like jazzmaster pups:veryangry2:...)
