Hahaha, yup, I ran here as soon as I saw Ian's post.Well, folks, this thread isn't the one that worries me if Will peruses the forum. I'm trying to imagine the conversation between Will, Chris & Jonny about a certain other thread on here. ;)

*sits back and reflects on every LOLdplay I've ever made*:laugh3:

Yup. :laugh3:

I was thinking that he probably doesn't visit that kind of threads when he comes but...I mean, he must have come to the LOLdplay thread once, out of curiosity, like "Oh, "LOLdplay thread, what is that ?" ....OHMYGOD I'd like to know what were the first captions he saw

Oh, poor, sweet, innocent Will...

The guys seem to have a good sense of humor. If they ever visit the LOLdplay thread or the Chris and Jonny thread, they will probably get a good laugh out of it. :laugh3:

They will learn that Coldplay fans are not only intelligent and beautiful (as how they describe us before) but also funny and full of imagination. :D

Thanks dear for posting. I wanted to watch that interview earlier but didn't have the time to look for it. Such a nice guy Will is  So modest & sweet

Btw I don't think that Will or any of the other guys have the time to lurk into fan forums. Maybe it's just me but I highly doubt it even if Phil mentioned it..If it's any of them looking here, I think it would be Phil since he is the one who tells him the fans point of view..No need to panic then ;)

And in fact according to Ian's second post today, Phil said he does look here for the latest media. It's the easiest place to find everything at once. :)

Not as Will-related, but here it is for the sake of having it all here.

So after all these beers in the F&F lounge I decide to go to the loo, I'm wondering who I might find in here. ROADIE #42 HAVING A SLASH! seriously! Well Miller he was busy, I could have said hello but I didn't want to disturb him, I guess it's a man thing. anyway one of the other roadies wearing full white outfit came in and R#42 disappeared.

What else? They had a fridge full of wines and champagnes, the red wine was nice too :D lots of tables with burning candles on and Ikea furniture (according to Jen anyway). Nibbles consisted of posh melons and fruits and cauliflower dips.(!)

Really does create an atmosphere when the room is filled with candle light and everyone talking really quietly. Guy was in the fridge a couple of times pulling out soft drinks. Jonny I think was arranging something for his brother, possibly tickets. He did look over to me and Jen but we were sat a little bit away from his group but then he went to get ready. Noticed he'd had a change of outfit, he was wearing red pants in the lounge but green on stage.

Phil talked a little bit about stuff like trolls attacking on the forum, I told him probably Radiohead fans were the main culprits when they've got nothing better to do but it's a rare event. He asked who looks after the forum and I told him about moderators and stuff and what we do :) He seemed quite interested in the history of the site so I told him how it got started way back in 2000. Also how busy it gets and I told him the traffic really depends on what Coldplay are doing at the time. He thought it was my full time job to run the site! He uses the site to find out what the media are saying about Coldplay etc. We chatted about families and stuff, and briefly the boat trip.

And Jen just said the same...that Phil checks the main site for media, and Will visits the main site too. So I doubt they see our every post, but it's still funny to think about.:laugh3:

so the non-alcoholic view of the VIP experience then!!

Sunday was more relaxed than Saturday, as we knew we had seats, albeit no idea where they were. We also weren't due to meet Phil til about 7:30pm.

We got to the stadium and headed to the admin office to sign-in. We had our ID checked and got ticked off the list. We were handed our tickets, wristbanded up with our gold VIP bands and handed Guest passes to be stuck to the top of our trouser legs. We also had a piece of paper giving us directions to the Friends and Family room.

We headed over to the Colin Bell stand. You can tell it's special, the security on the door were wearing smart navy blue suits and not the high vis stuff the other ones around the ground had. They checked our tickets and then we walked to the door where there was another security man with a table to check our bags. Inside the door, they checked the tickets again and were directed to a table where the Xylobands were laid out in coloured piles. Ian picked a yellow one and I took a blue one. The lady then put them on for us.

As we had Guest passes, we were then directed to a security lady to escort us to the F&F room. We went down 2 flights of stairs, into the bowels of the stadium. At the bottom of the stairs, we started seeing the Coldplay signs that Anchorman quite often posts in his photoblogs.

We went through a set of double doors and we were at the bottom of the player's tunnel. The security lady asked if we'd like to walk up the tunnel, so we walked to the end and had a look out. We then walked back down and she took us down a corridor to the F&F room.

We grabbed a drink from the table and then found a seat. There weren't many seats available so Ian and I ended up sharing a big white chair. Luckily, there was just room for 2 of us.

The door to the room was wedged open as it was quite warm in there so we could see everyone walking past. It was very difficult staying cool and not appearing over-excited. Every so often I'd nudge Ian and whisper, pointing out who went past. Saw, Jonny, Will, Phil, Dan Green, Miller, Jackie & Kelly. A blonde lady in a white top came in the room a few times, looking very busy, we later found out she was Arlene.

The people in the room ebbed & flowed with people entering & leaving, some coming back others not. I didn't notice Guy come in the room, but turned round a little while later and saw him stood chatting to some people. He was wearing his stage t-shirt, trousers & shoes.

When Will came in, he was wearing a white t-shirt & jeans.

I think Ian mentioned Jonny was wearing his red stage trousers but then had changed to the green ones by the time he came out on stage.

We didn't see Chris at all but I had thought at the time that, as Jay-z & Kanye were in town for their show tonight, he might be elsewhere with guests. I've since seen that Gwyneth was there last night, so now we know :)

Phil came to see us after his haircut. He is such a sweetheart. He's got sparkly, smiley eyes too. I've no idea how long we chatted but talked about the tour, MX, Coldplaying.com, the media and all sorts.

Phil checks Coldplaying.com most days but not the forum. Will apparently also checks the main site quite often. Chris doesn't read any media at all.

Phil needed to disappear and see someone else then, and Arlene came to fetch him. Phil introduced us to Arlene, who also seems very nice.

We headed up to our seats then. We had to find a security person who took us to the lifts and we went up to what I think must be the executive lounge on match days. He found us one of the stadium security to escort us to our seats. We were row B on the comfy seats, in the block to the side of the tunnel.

Sunday night's show was even better than Saturday. The crowd was even more into the show than the previous night and the band seemed to be buzzing too. It was very disconcerting as the concrete floor of the first tier was bouncing along with all the fans. Took a while to get used to it.

I think they may have been filming some of the #Coldplayfilm. Towards the end of Yellow, the screen showed Phil in a tent at the back of the crowd, and just after the song ended Chris said something along the lines of "sorry Phil, I fucked up that bit at the beginning, can we do it again?" He then told us that he needed us to sing the "I love you so" bit again and then we would do the end of the song.

I've been to a few Coldplay concerts so was surprised that the first time I've ended up covered in beer was sat in the VIP section!

We had to leave a touch early as we needed to get back into town and pick up the car, and I didn't want to get stuck in traffic. We disappeared from our seats as ETIAW started. It was still fun though. We saw the fireworks going off on the stadium roof and could hear the crowd belting out the lyrics. And as we walked towards the main road, there was a Stagecoach bus parked up, you couldn't see the people sat on it but you could see the Xylobands flashing through the windows.

I'd guess they probably focus more on the main page, and maybe an occasional glance at the forum, and if that probably the sections of the forum that deal with people's comments on releases, shows etc. If I was in the band, those are the sections that would have value to me, not the sillyness we post here.:)

On an unrelated topic, who wants to start a betting pool on how long it will take the report of Ian's conversation with Phil to be disected, (mis)interperated, and used as fodder for b***hing when some of what was said doesn't come to pass in exactly the way people think it will?

-climbs off soapbox-

Lastly to keep this post somewhat on topic: Go Will!;)

Exactly. I suspect you're right. But if I was them, I'd glance around. I woulnd't be able to help it,lol. And Ian said that Will is aware of both the good and back feedback about MX, so he miight have read that sub-forum.

As for your bet, you can give someone a gold brick and they'll blame you if they drop it on their foot, lol.

And yes...GO WILL!

Well, there has been both good and bad feedback everywhere there's any kind of feedback, so it's hard to imagine he wouldn't be aware of it regardless. At this point in their careers though, I really can't imagine the boys doing anything for any reason other than it being something they personally want to do. What that may be, we'll have to wait and see, but I'd be amazed if they felt a pressing need to conform to any kind of outside expectations.

And I still say everyone who claims the feeback on MX was heavily mixed, is either not remembering or ignoring the reception X and Y got back in the day. Now that was a mixed reception!;)

I was all ready to agree til I read Ian's latest post in Phil's thread... ;)

Oh, and back to topic, I wonder if Will saw this,lol...

okay guys since now we all know Will reads the blog occasionally, i was thinking we should do a separate thread with a title in bold like "WILL WE LOVE YOU" or whatever (okay not in a camp kinda way you know :P) so it gets his attention right away when he comes on, and everybody can summarize how the band and their music has changed their life (people can take their posts from other threads and paste it there). i know people have shared this before all over the forum but to gather it all in one place so the band can read it with no hassle of having to search though the forum (obviously they wont!) would be AMAZING.

theres been some negativity recently cuz of MX and i myself have been very critical indeed maybe even harsh at times i reckon this would change thing a bit

okay just a thought tell me what you think

It said he "checks out" the site, and is aware of it, not that he "reads" it in detail. As I said during that conversation, I doubt very much that he reads through all these threads.

And Lord knows I hope he doesn't!!

But I suspect any band who has had their kind of success knows the fans talk, laugh, share pictures and make silly inside jokes. Combined with Will's overall calm outlook (from what I've seen and read) I doubt he'd be all that freaked out by us,lol. ;)

Over the years, there have been quite a few stories of members of the band, and people in their inner circle (ie. wives) responding to general fan weirdness with uncommon graciousness, so I'd imagine they get it. Still, some of the ahm...sillyness that goes on her is probably best unseen by anyone remotely connected to the band.:laugh3:

YES, THIS!

Chris & Jonny's thread is NOT how I would introduce myself to the band, if ever I was lucky enough to meet them, lol. But I'm sure they would chuckle awkwardly and forgive us...

It's why I try to mix my posts. There's my silly sense of humour, but there's still (hopefully) some intelligent talk about the music so they don't think I'm utterly whacked!:laugh3:

And I think I could hold up my end of a conversation about gear any day...and that's still the most important thing to me.:)

I'd love to talk to either Jonny or Guy about their gear in depth, so yeah.
