I just checked my email and I had a few requests for the discography. Just to let all of you collectors know, I have a Coldplay 500+ CD/LP/DVD/Cassette/VHS release discography that I am more than happy to share. It helped me build my 350+ collection. When you know more info about an item like serial number and number of tracks, you have the upper hand on eBay. Sometimes sellers list rare items and don't list them as "rare". It may look the same as a regular item. If you know the serial number you will know exactly what it is and you can make the purchase before anyone else.

 

That's how I got the "Trouble" 4-track Australia CD cheap. The photo looked like any other "Trouble" CD so it was passed over by many buyers. When I saw it I looked up the serial # in the discography and knew it was the rare version.

 

I need to get this discography out to as many collectors as I can to keep it up to date. If you have any "Official" releases that are not listed in the discography I need to know so we can get it updated.

Coldplay cool item of the day!!

 

This is the official 12" Paradise Remix, limited edition color vinyl. This is a rare piece. It is an official Coldplay release and I've only seen 2 of them. It not only contains remixes but also the original version so would it be considered the 12" single? Could be. Its serial number is Coldplaypar001. Enjoy the photos.

Managed to grab myself a BIN signed MX tour programme on flea bay today! Seller said it comes with the packing slip so at least i know it's not a fake.I'll have to get a nice frame for it too & see if i can get some MX tour confetti off ebay to go in it too. :)

I have just received an 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall Promo CD' (Parlophone) (CDRDJ6843) (5099908460523).

 

However, I believe what I have purchased could possibly be a fake, but I am not sure.

 

It is in a plastic sleeve containing the cover, with the CD slotted inside, but upon close inspection both the cover and CD are of poor quality. Firstly I say this because the writing (credits) on the back cover I not legible, the writing in white is somewhat distorted and faded. Secondly, the writing on the CD is ok, but not great, in particular the Parlophone logo.

Also, the plastic center of the CD has 6 digits (5C1380D) on in black writing, which could indicate a general CD used to put this on.

 

I have had a look at Discgos and various other photos of this Promo, all of which seem fairly poor quality too.

 

I was wondering if any others which have this promo, could confirm that in fact the promo is just this quality please?

 

If not and it is fake, then I can confront this seller.

Sounds like you picked up a copy of the CD-R acetate. Its probably real but you should upload a photo so I can verify it. They give these CD-R acetates away free to major music reviewers so not a lot of effort goes into the quality. The good thing for us collectors is that they can be rare. The "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" CD-R acetate is not. You can find a copy all the time on eBay. I'll upload a pic of my copy for you to compare.

 

The bottom row, center CD is the acetate in a plastic sleeve. The closest one I have to the CD you described.
