I have a friend who’s actually following the same program for research. Apparently it’s f-cking hell. Two hours a day and bland food and she says no woman with any happiness in her life would ever subject herself to such torture. Not a stretch to believe this is the GOOPer’s life now.

 

After all, Gwyneth would suffer in silence. For the sake of the children. She’d maintain the public façade: Hollywood beauty married to rock star and two kids and perfection and she doesn’t believe in divorce. It’s a longstanding tradition.

I'd always imagined Chris to be a nice guy, I can definitely see him leaving her alone for long periods of time, what with him being obsessed with the job and I could see him being cantankerous too, he has got that edge to him. But cheating...?

GWYNETH HUBBY-FREE IN MIAMI

 

November 19, 2008 -- IS Gwyneth Paltrow heading down the same marital path as her pal Madonna?

Paltrow raised eyebrows last weekend when she went to the Victoria's Secret fashion show at the reopened Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach instead of flying to see her rocker husband, Chris Martin, on tour with Coldplay.

One insider said, "Gwyneth flew down privately at the behest of [Fontainebleau Resorts owner] Jeff Soffer." Paltrow and Soffer - a billionaire bachelor who's regarded as Miami royalty - have become very good friends recently, insiders added.

Adding to speculation, Paltrow didn't stay at the hotel with other guests, opting to "stay at a friend's house instead for more privacy," a source reports. While attending the Victoria's Secret party and show, she "remained closed off in a private section and hung out with Soffer and Madonna paramour Alex Rodriguez."

On Friday, Soffer gave Paltrow a private tour of the hotel and then whisked her away in his Bentley. Saturday, she joined him on his yacht with her pal Kate Hudson.

Reports that Martin and Paltrow have been on the rocks for months have circulated in the press as they've refused to be photographed together. One wag snipes, "She spent the summer filming a TV show in Spain with Mario Batali and now, instead of hanging out with her husband, she goes to a Victoria's Secret show? Really? Gwyneth doesn't have anything to do with Victoria's Secret. If things were so great with Chris, why wouldn't she be with him?"

Adding fuel to the fire was the way Paltrow looked in Miami. "She was very, very thin," a witness noted. "She looked stressed out. And she certainly didn't act like a happily married woman."

But a pal of Martin said Paltrow and their children, Apple and Moses, visited Martin on Sunday in Dallas after leaving Miami.

A rep for Martin declined to comment. A rep for Paltrow told us, "Jeff Soffer is a friend of Gwyneth."

so i have been watching a few segments of the Mario and friends show "on the road" it's really a foodie show but Gwennie does talk about the kids a lot. she eats a lot. she seemed quite normal if your normal days consists of driving around in a Mercedes convertible in Spain, eating at amazing restaurants being served food and wine all day. i bet she doesn't have to do the dishes

After appearing in an ad for Italian company Tod’s this summer wearing a fur stole, many wondered how Gwyneth Paltrow reconciled wearing a dead animal with her eco-friendly, pro-vegetarian views. The actress, who’s a good friend of vocal animal rights activist and designer Stella McCartney, was reprimanded by PETA for seemingly supporting fur.

 

Back in August, PETA said,

 

“Gwyneth Paltrow won’t be the apple of her daughter’s eye if she continues to flaunt fur.It’s a terrible example to set for a young child, promoting an industry that electrocutes animals, snaps their necks and skins them alive.”

 

PETA caught up with Gwyneth this weekend in Miami and asked her what the deal was with the fur stole, and she responded:

“That was awkward, and I’m glad you asked, because I do not wear fur at all. It was a daylong photo shoot on a boat near Capri, and there were all sorts of poses with all kinds of clothes—none with fur. During one set-up, a stylist came up from behind and draped a stole around my shoulders. I didn’t pay much attention to it, and when I noticed it was fur I assumed it was fake fur but did not ask, so it’s my fault. I was very surprised when they ended up using that one shot out of hundreds for the centerpiece of the Tod’s ads. I know it’s not a great excuse, but I hope you and your members understand.”

Gwyneth also said that she and her husband are pretty much vegetarian, and that she knows a vegetarian diet is the best thing for her family’s health as well as for animals and the environment. PETA hopes that someday she’ll take part in their ‘Meat’s Not Green’ campaign.

 

In the meantime, let’s hope she pays more attention to suspiciously-furry-feeling garments that she’s being clothed in at photo shoots.

Why DON'T they use fake fur for those instances? That whole Kate Winslet debacle is the same situation. She assumed it was fake and got all this ridicule. But I suppose they should check on these things themselves and make clear that they will not be wearing fur under any circumstances.

Well, I haven't seen Chris without his wedding ring but then again I am not normally looking at his hands. Anyway, Chirs not wearing his wedding ring is not that big of a deal depending on the situation. If he's not wearing it during a concert than there's nothing wrong with that because many athletes and other performers take off their rings so they won't damage it. However, if he has been seen in public without the ring than I would say that there could an issue.

 

Also, that picture from the premiere is interesting. You know they say that you can analyze one's relationship by how the couple are holding, posing, kissing, touching, etc one another. I'm not trying to start anything since that picture is a few years old but it is interesting from an analytical point of view.

It always makes me laugh when magazines and newspapers speculate on a celeb couple's relationship based on one photo from a red carpet. They always choose the one that makes the couple look like they hate each other so they can go 'shock horror! so and so is heading for divorce, just look at how she's turning away from him!!!' :laugh3:

From what I've read it's just based on here-say. How people at the party 'thought' she looked on a night out in Miami. These people probably don't know her and didn't speak to her. It's just lame gossip. So what if Gwyneth went to a party rather than to another of Chris' concerts. She's been to a few of the shows already. Maybe she fancied a night out with her friends instead of seeing the same show again. If Chris was working then why shouldn't she go out. It seems like a married woman isn't allowed to go out on her own without being accused of cheating or about to divorce!

Ok so I'm torn about this...while lately I've been wondering if this was going on between them, I also try not to believe stuff in magazines, as it's usually untrue...but I hate the way the author wrote that she took Apple and Moses with her to "visit" Chris when he was in Texas...it just doesn't seem write...even though I know the writer did that to make the reader believe what he was saying is true. But it really makes it seem like something is up between Chris and Gwyneth...I don't know...it's complicated. But then after reading this I was thinking/singing their new song life in technicolor ii and the lyric "oh love don't let me go" popped into my head...does this mean anything to anyone else about this situation??? It's especially amusing when you realize that these are the same media sources who were reporting ad nauseum when Gwyneth was spotted crying over one of Coldplay's songs at a concert recently. Funny how they forget about that the moment this crap comes down the pipeline.

 

They have two little kids and a brutal touring schedule. How they work that out is ultimately no one's business but their own and their managers.
