katienz
she looks taller than what is quoted, like she would tower over everyone elseNah, she's definitely around 5"11. When you used to see pictures of her walking with Chris she wasn't much shorter than him. :)

Mimixxx
i agree, i don't think she should have put out this GOOP thing about a detox. i definitely agree that she should be saying more about being happy with who you are, but even disregarding that, detoxes can be really dangerous, as she proved a year ago when she was brought to the hospital and chris had to punch out a paparazzo for her. she doesn't need to lose weight, so she should stop talking about how she should--it just makes normal people feel worse about themselves. at least this menu has food in it, but she should just post healthy recipies without a regimen attached, since she's proved that she doesn't have the healthiest of body images in the world. i'm fine with her giving us shopping tips and nice recipies, but other than that, i'm getting more dissatisfied with GOOP. I totally agree. She has a very negative body image, she always has, but she seemed to relax a lot after she had her children. But it seems since she's gone back into the spotlight she's become obsessed again. It's her job to stay slim, I'm sure she's under a lot of pressure etc. But it's not ours. And she shouldn't advise us to be taking part in dangerous cleansing procedures that, like you said, put her in hospital. I guess it doesn't help that Chris is a bit that way too. Nothing as obsessive obviously, but he's got that about him. I guess maybe she just thinks it's normal to feel that way.
melanieau
Where are all her "normal non-famous" friends she says she has? Seems like one of them could have told her that normal non-famous women don't go around doing cleansing procedures...unless of course you count scrubbing the bathroom:dozey:
Mimixxx
I think her comments from this interview show how negative her body image is. Especially her comments on the picture of her in the purple dress, 'Deauville film festival' picture and the 'Dr. Faustus' picture: From Classic Talent I'd say the picture of her in the purple dress was my figure...so apparently I look like a linebacker! I would love to have the figure she has when wearing that purple dress. I would be more than happy if I looked like that :) Okay, maybe she is right that she looked more chubby than in other photos but that is probably also because of the colour of that dress and the dress style in general. Everyone's got clothes in which you look more skinny or less chubby than in other clothes.
ApproximatelyInfinite
well, at least she admits that she has unhealthy body image, and she's totally right that everyone has things about them that they wish they could change. but the difference is now that she's dispensing advice about body image that isn't "be healthy, but be happy with who you are"...she shouldn't be allowed to do that and she should know better than to go about doing that. post nice recipies and good exercise routines, but don't tell us how we need to fast and detox, especially when she admits to how dangerous it is and how we all know it hurt her last year. i'd be perfectly happy if GOOP was all clothes and shopping . those are the issues i most look forward to, anyway. mksh24
I'm glad she doesn't think that her body is perfection... if she did tell everyone we should all embrace are bodies wouldn't every normal person out there think that she is even more non-relatable to themselves? anyways i agree i just want the styling tips too she has great style! That bit about the three day juice fast is sad, doesnt seem worth it at all.she doesnt look like a linebacker in the purple dress, she looks like she's a healthy weight...so if you look like that you have nothing to worry about. The body image issues come with the business she's in and having to constantly compare herself to other actresses who are comparing themselves to others as well and all are taking things to extremes. I just would prefer she keep the comments about how apparently fat she was when she was healthier looking, and the tips on fasting and cleansing to herself so that us regular women can keep our sanity. Anyway, last April I did my all raw food followed by liver cleanse fast. 2 weeks of all/only raw then cleanse. Husband did 1 month all raw then 3 day liver cleanse fast. Real people do do that kind of thing. Wait, did I say do-do. TMI alert- it was not pretty during those 2 weeks let me tell ya! What does she mean sluggish, the toilet was on constant flush in this house. And I was sick to death of it after the 2 weeks. Freaking hungry 24/7 and shit-tired of all cold food. We threw out the junk food and we are gonna do it again in April. So be forewarned- I'm gonna be miserable & crabbier than hell on these boards for those 2 weeks ! I think real people may do this kind of thing, but instead of blogging all sweetness and light about it they just bitch and moan alot. But, hey, it'll all be worth it because I'll be be skinny & fabulous for my Chrissie in Sept.:smug: Now I'm off to scrub the bathrooms, damn it.:laugh3: __________________

Since its clear one of these "cleanses" landed her in the hospital I think it is very wise for anyone wanting to try this to contact a medical professional first to make sure they aren't going to do permanent damage to themselves.:)
Kackie
I would love to have the figure she has when wearing that purple dress. Everyone's got clothes in which you look more skinny or less chubby than in other clothes. You're absolutely right. The cut of that dress is extremely unflattering. I personally hate that style of neck because your shoulders stick out and your arms hang down. If you're going to wear sleevless, traditional spaghetti straps look better. And the cut up the leg doesn't help either... and on top of that, she is wearing her hair up. So she probably isn't even that much heavier, but her clothes are unflattering and her hair is up. When people have long, flowing hair, it tends to make their shoulders look smaller. I think that's part of why so many models have long hair! :D anyway, cleanses are not really SUPPOSED to be for weight loss. They can be very important and beneficial for people when a doctor is involved and it's for health reasons. Just doing it to lose weight isn't a good idea. My mom had to do something like this because her doctor wanted to find out if she had a food allergy. My health has been so bad in the last two months, as soon as I get to a doctor, I am going to try whatever I need to, to get better. It won't have to do with weight loss though! That just seems reckless. :( I like Gwyneth though, probably wouldn't want to be friends with her, but I think she is a great actress, very pretty and wears some awesome outfits. I've liked her since Emma, back when Chris was probably in university studying history. LOL.

She's getting so thin these days. I was looking at this picture the other day of her when she was pregnant with Apple, and her face looks sooooo much better. rounder and just all together better.

Mimixxx
Gwyneth Paltrow's movie miss-outs Gwyneth Paltrow worries about missing her children growing-up. The Oscar-winning actress - mum to four-year-old daughter Apple and two-year-old son Moses with Coldplay singer husband Chris Martin - works less now she's a parent. Gwyneth told USA Today: "I really can only do one movie a year because my kids are so small, and if I miss even two days of their lives, they're gone." The 36-year-old now keeps herself busy writing her monthly newsletter GOOP. She said: "I have this incredible, blessed, sometimes difficult, very lucky, very unique life, and I've gotten to travel all over the place and to work and live in different cities. I go on tour with my husband and go to cities I would never necessarily go to. So I started accruing all of this information. I thought this would be a fun, creative way to share with friends. "I am by nature a very creative person. I love doing all of it. We have great fun coming up with the recipes and testing them and feeding everyone in the house. I also really enjoy the writing part, and I usually do that when my kids are asleep, and I just take a few minutes." She revealed in 2009 she plans to make the second Iron Man movie and possibly write a cook book. This month's GOOP newsletter reveals Gwyneth's strict New Year detox diet to loose the weight she claims to have gained over Christmas. She is only eating steamed fish and chicken, salad vegetables, fruit and low-fat nuts and seeds and taking olive and caster oil at night to stimulate her liver and bowels. http://www.metro.co.uk/fame/article.html?Gwyneth_Paltrows_movie_miss-outs&in_article_id=463550&in_page_id=7&in_a_source=
