Random Coldplay thoughts...

It would serve them just right imo.

You want to join up with these mainstream mass "phenomena" (meh)? That's what you get.

That in itself was really never an issue to me. Bruce Springsteen, U2, Paul McCartney, etc all have participated and put up nice shows there. This could have gone quite nicely too, but it doesn't bode well so far.

Oh the truth in this statement. Nobody that mentions them (unless they're on a show) seems to speak about the band in a good positive light. They have every right to their opinion, but because of everything that's happened in the past there is a stigma attached to favoring them that bothers the hell out of me. Run around screaming you love them and people would disapprove, shake their head, tease you and etc. Run around screaming you hate them (or if you just say "I like their old music only") and people would often agree. (This isn't always the case, but there seems to be a trend).

If you like Justin Bieber, One Direction and Coldplay run around and scream it to the heavens!

*LOL* I agree with this sentiment. Censorship on what people are allowed to think, say for like or don't like is one of the worst maladies a society can have...It can be hard to keep integrity with your right to be as you want to be, but there really is no alternative. Caving in is not an option ;)

When you're down (like I was today) all these beautiful sad songs like Harmless, Prospekt's March/Poppyfields, For You or Fly On hit you so much more.....it's great that Coldplay songs always have this tiny little spot of hope in them even at their darkest. Lifts you up !

After for weeks offering me ads entitled "Jewish and Single ?" or alternatively "Christian and Single ?", neither of which I am, the large ad bar on the front page of Coldplaying.com/forum is now offering me tickets for Justin Bieber's world tour.

And I thought online ads were personalized..... :D

I think you can opt for them to personalised or not? Haha not sure but I once tried to remove them altogether (silly me I thought I had that option lol) but instead I was offered the fantastic choice of non-personalised or personalised ads. Wow such delight LOL

I never chose personalized ads but most internet sites still offer stuff that undeniably corresponds to my recent google, ebay or amazon searches.

*hopes no one thinks I browsed religious dating sites or Justin Bieber earlier* :D

Yeah its Google search and/or websites tracking your activities. Im not sure you can opt out of the tracking? I have not used Google as my search engine in a year now and Im not seeing those ads anymore...good riddance!

These days you have to opt out of crap you are automatically opted in from the beginning often without even knowing it LOL Like my phone tracked me in so many ways as default: I had to actively tell it to stop it (sometimes repeatedly ) ! Ditto with Google and its obsessive "your location" crap....grrrrr.

Just made a break after Low cause I'm so exhausted. Wish I had more stamina so that I could keep moving like Chris :D (even though in 2005 he was not even moving that much during concerts)

What an awesome concert, though ! If I never see Coldplay live at least I have this to watch and replay. Unfortunately the speakers are crappy, I can't imagine how it would be with a huge screen and surround sound. :)

I was thinking about how people constantly say how Coldplay's lyrics never make sense. I can see what they mean, but at the same time it's not like a meaning can be instantly spoonfed to you. Of course something may sound meaningless when all the data is dispersed and not linked. The connections make it meaningful, not the concrete black and white characters on the sheet. Chris may not use the most eloquent language in his lyricism, but if you manage to make networks of meanings and create a tapestry of ideas to see the BIG PICTURE then maybe it might start to make sense. People sometimes say the same thing about Radiohead too, because the randomness of the language and the indirect message can sometimes turn off people from really looking into it. So maybe getting the cogs turning up there just might allow you to see some incredible things. Everything is relative, even if the connection is so wildly abstract.

To put it bluntly, actually start thinking and it'll make sense.

*sorry if this is too long*

Today I went to the bank in a hurry but a man passed me by in such a rush that he took the next turn. My first thought was "how dare he stole in that way my turn? I am in a hurry!" but I realized it was just one man I don't mind, so I took my turn and it happened to be number 242! How awesome was that! I won't complain about simple things again!

Sorry to say, but truly I found these two references in your post more awesome than the actual story itself ! :D Love hidden lyrics references!!!

The truth is one was intended, the other one I didn't realise until you mentioned it! I know it's not the greatest story of all time but I liked it I've got 242 :)

I was not trying to diminish your story, just expressing my delight at your wording :D

I keep noticing 42's in real life too :D and just today I stopped something on the microwave and realized that the timer was at 1:36
