Nixon Watches and the Recording Academy have partnered for Rock Ltd, a limited edition group of 13 watches made from the old leather pants, jackets, boots, belts and guitar straps donated by a variety of music and sports icons. Proceeds from the sales go to support the MusiCares MAP Fund, a charity that provides members of the music community access to addiction treatment and recovery services.

 

Among the participating celebrities are Coldplay front man Chris Martin, rap legend Eminem, Grammy winner Macklemore, Slash from Guns N’ Roses, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica, country singer Tim McGraw, and skateboard pioneer Tony Hawk.

 

“Being in the music world carries its own particular challenges to staying sober. But for everyone who is in recovery, there is one common thread – the first step to recovery is to know you need help and to ask for it,” said Slash. “The MusiCares MAP Fund is that answer for music people, and that’s why I wanted to be a part of the Nixon Rock LTD Collection.”

 

Each watch is individually, hand-numbered to denote its rarity. Additionally, each watch features a custom, etched caseback with the name of the artist and is packaged with a certificate of authenticity from Nixon and MusiCares. In addition to select Nixon stores around the world, participating retailers include Westime, RonRobinson | Fred Segal Melrose, Feldmar, and Placio De Oro.

I'd love to go to a maroon 5 concert, too, they're my second favorite band, but judging from the videos the Coldplay concert will be the best concert i'll ever see :D

Maroon 5 is good and I like some of their songs. I enjoy their concert because they have a good way to involve the audience. But you'll be blown away by the amazing show Coldplay do.

I wonder which one is Chris' contribution.

I went to the official site because I was curious too and apparently the white one is Chris'. EDIT: If you go to the official site you will see that they missed one name(the watches are 13 and the names of the artists 12) Chris' watch model suggests that his is actually the one on the right of the white watch.

That's the effect Coldplay have on their fans. We love the things they love/are part of without even knowing they love/are part of them. Something similar happened to me: there's a song by Nelly Furtado called All Good Things (Come To An End) and that used to be my favourite song of hers (I still love it, but it isn't my fav anymore). Anyways, guess who wrote and provided background vocals to the song... [emoji1]

Follow-up: I just nearly got a heart attack lol. Was blasting away Square One on headphones and thinking about some data when a colleague called me and I didn't hear it. He waved a hand in front of my computer screen and I jumped :O

I just listened to the Giorgio Moroder Remix of Midnight for the first time, and that is a really amazing song!! Probably my favorite official Coldplay remix!

I always try to sing harmonies while listening to Coldplay songs, but half of the time I fail miserably because my voice doesn't do what my brain tells it to:D

Well, I have the same feeling. I think I have a good voice whenever I sing to myself but my family always tells me why I don't stop singing[emoji14]lol
