A new single would be cool - even better if it wasn't from a song on the album!

 

that would be great, because then it wouldn't disturb the initial listening flow of the album. Like the first time I heard X&Y it was so good cause i hadn't heard the songs (except SOS) before. I think that a new song from the actual album VLV would be bad because we've already heard 2 songs. I think a song like Famous Old Painters, or other non-album songs would be great for a single release because it wouldn't take away from the first listen of the album

I'm 95% sure Viva la Vida IS the next single.

 

It would be stupid not to release a song which has charted so high!

 

Anyway I recon that thing was the iTunes commercial though I hope to be wrong.

hey i never thought of that. that would be awesome. if they released a single for one of the 'big' songs they left off the album because they didnt want safety nets to fall back on or w.e. It would also be like that old prospekt post where he said some top division songs would be released independantly. hmmmm interesting!

 

 

That was my logic behind it.

The whole idea of an independant release. Also, Viva La Vida was more of an Itunes thing and Prospekt said "one or two songs" released before the album. That was a Coldplay thing, not an Itunes thing. However, that's speculating at its best lol.

 

There was also mention by Parlaphone of non-album songs being released.

At the end of the day, we'll get our songs. But I hate waiting for things to happen at England times...my May 21st is coming to an end and still no news!!!

I agree. I was thinking today how I'd rather not hear anymore from the album until it comes out just so that when I finally hear it, it will be fresh - not disturbed by earlier listenings of bits and pieces.

Therefore, fingers crossed for a non-album song!!

At what time of the day could they reveal everything? I'm about to check the internet every hour, hoping something will happen :D

We need someone from UK here to tell us. I never actually know what the exact time is in England when things are announced (if there is an actual exact time at all).

But Violet Hill was released middayish? Who knows...

On their site they've announced that they'll be playing at the MTV Movie Awards. But we already knew that.

Yeah, whos to say that source is reliable? only one website ran that rumour. And I remember it being last week there was supposed to be news.

I hope we're still getting some announcement today. I know it's still reasonably early in the UK, but I cannot wait. Reading all your comments about it being a possible single release, I do hope it is -- well, B-sides anyway -- but how is that something with big global reach? :confused:

 

I mean, I understand that it's released to the world, but I'm expecting something more exciting than that.

Tarkovsky, I think the video was made by Apple rather than by Coldplay, as they have done with all the other iPod adverts over the years.

If it were made by Coldplay, I think we'd have seen the whole thing, or at least have known about it in advance.

 

This video looks like the cut bits from the Violet Hill video and put them onto a nice shiney background! :) But I still love it!!!
