May 30, 200818 yr yeah, i think that for bigger acts like coldplay, it's pretty unlikely. then again...considering the spread-out release dates and the inevitable filesharing...they COULD agree to do it with EMI. we'll see. That's exactly what I'm thinking. Not a mistake. A negotiated prerelease release. Thinking from a business point of view. 6 days between japan and North america. How many people will download it for free because they can not purchase it yet? How many of those people would pay us if they could get it? For a label so desperate for money it's the only logical thing to do.
May 30, 200818 yr i guess it doesn't matter all that much to me personally, because i'm planning to download the leak (for lack of a better term) from japan/the UK and buying the physical CD rather than itunes-ing it, but it's certainly interesting! i wonder if the people that refuse to download the "leak" on the 11th/12th would download the hypothetical early itunes release? or is it all about the physical CD and artwork? you DO get a digital booklet...

May 30, 200818 yr the itunes release IS very tempting, i have to say, but i figure i can get those tracks from somewhere else, and i'll already have the thing on my computer from the leak. i'm buying the CD because i like CDs and i want the nice artwork...but how much do you want to bet that i'm going to end up with the itunes release too? :P
May 30, 200818 yr It's impossible to judge a song by a 30 second clip, especially if it's a song like 42 which has 3 parts, this could be any part of it! I'm gonna wait until I hear this bit in context with the rest of the song. As the release date nears, it's becoming less and less likely that the album will leak, and we may have to wait until release date before hearing it (which isn't that far away now anyway)
