actually yeah, my first comment was somewhat overblown, but they're easily up there.

Err...'Radiohead' does play piano. Thom's main instrument these days. And I have the mental capacity to understand lyrics other than "you cut me down a treeeeee and bought it back to meeeeeee", which is a trait the majority of Coldplay fans don't seem to entertain.

And as for lyrics...every band has some kind of lyric which might be a little too complex for us to understand or just ''way out there''. Radiohead has a couple of beauties that I can recall:

To classify pop and emo and r&b (which should not be slashed with rap by the way) in the same category is tragic. They aren't the same, and going by your other comments here in terms of liking Coldplay a little more over Radioihead, there is a lot of uplifting r&b music out there. I just don't think you should knock r&b, as I love rock and follow various bands of the genre, but I also enjoy r&b.

I agree with that, yes. There is a bad side to every kind of music: pop, punk, alternative, classic, etc etc, even rock... For some reason, I'm sure I've had this conversation before lol whops!

One of the main reasons I'm such a big Coldplay fan is that I find their music uplifting - something you could never say about Radiohead's sound, whether you're a fan or not.;)

I had to learn this the hard way, by getting pissed off when our board/band got insulted, but ya know what?? it REALLY isn't worth your time and energy. They hate Coldplay. So what? Hang out here and post what you like, good and bad, about CP and ignore the 'schoolyard bullies'.

Okay and a general message to the coldplayers here who are posting that they hate Radiohead. What makes you any different than the ateasers who slag off Coldplay? You guys are being just as ignorant and immature.

If its not your cup of key just shut up and don't listen to it. Obviously Radiohead is my favourite band, and I'm not that big a fan of Coldplay, but I don't go around saying that the suck because I understand different people like different things and I'm not going to go insult other bands (with the exception of some Emo bands and Nickelback).

I never did agree with the radiohead comparison really with any coldplay song...I never saw the connection really. The only obvious trace I have listened to is the preview of 42 defineatly sounds like it belongs on "In Rainbows". Personally I find Radiohead to be not that great of a band and the new stuff is just beyond odd and almost annoying...but people seem to love them and thats fine.

 

I'd take Coldplay anyday...

I don't know what series of events led me there, but I ended up at the official radio head message board. I do like some of their songs; however, I am pissed off by how much Coldplay bashing goes on in that forum. It is like the forum exists solely to bash them.

 

This is why I propose a day of retaliation on their message board. Even if you like Radiohead, I urge you to start some shit for no reason.

 

Just in case you haven't noticed, I'm growing impatient for June 11th and tonight's MTV performance didn't help anything...
