JonnyBawesome
I don't know about you guys but I'm tired of hearing Fix You, Yellow, Trouble, Clocks...et cetera. I just am tired of them...not because they are overplayed...ok maybe its because they're overplayed. But mainly they just seem so dead to me. I watched the Brixton (is that right?) performance the other night of Fix You and it looked so...dead. Like they don't have any soul into it. Thats the way it feels to me. I just want the new stuff no more old stuff.
Death Hill
I could live without "Fix You".
Bonus_mosher
I understand what you're saying. maybe if I'd seen them live more I'd agree. but I've only seen them once (BBC gig two days ago) and I loved seeing all the hits being played. But that might be cos' of the lack of times I've seen them live. :)
Death Hill
Also, if they did perform less of the overplayed hits (like the ones you listed) there'd be much more room for the more underrated non-singles from the older albums, which we don't get to see performed live often. Kaos_16
I agree with you about Yellow and Fix You, but I think Trouble and Clocks sounds fine. ESPECIALLY Clocks...I think they still have a lot of soul left in that one.
crazyduckette
^I'm with you. I never heard Trouble live before this week, so I'm very happy about that. I'm worried that they only play Fix You to satisfy their commerical masses/audience.... :\ Play older songs boys!! like..... Shiver...Spies....Warning Sign........ is Crests of Waves too much to ask for? :)

bearcat1229
Well I would prefer Trouble, Fix You, Yellow, clocks etc AND songs like Shiver, Spies, A Rush of Blood to the head but we only get 90 minutes. What you do have to remember is us die-hard fans know every song but the average coldplay fan knowns them by those songs, and they have to play to the average audience. Yeah they could play lesser known songs but who in the audience would even know them? Then you get a bunch of dead horses just standing around. I agree I would be into it but only us die-hards would. Its like with my band...when we play live shows sure I want to play only our originals but there are very few people that know them so you have to play alot of covers to get any reaction....maybe a dull comparison but... Tonsu
I'm with you 100% on them playing warning sign. that would make my life! I'm with you too, maybe we can deliver a petition for Warning Sign to the bakery?! Actually on that recent Canadian interview the guy asked Chris to talk him through every song on the first two albums (or was it three?) and when he got to Warning Sign he said something like 'it's boring but we're going to start playing it live again' :) His comments about Yellow and Clocks pretty much convinced me that they'll never drop them live. Trouble's nice live, but I've heard it loads, I really wish they'd rotate it with Shiver, Sparks (which is HEAVEN live), Don't Panic, Green Eyes... Yellow acoustic is absolutely awesome, I must say, but I'd be happy to lose Clocks and FY.
Pseudonym
Speak for yourself, mate. Even though I have seen these songs live on DVD and Youtube, I bet it will be a whole other experience to hear them live in person. It wouldnt be a concert for me without Fix You and Yellow, and even though I love Trouble, I could live without it but Id love to hear it live. I just want a good mix of new and old. As long as they play Yellow, Fix You, DAAHF, VLV, Violet Hill, Politik, and Speed of Sound, I couldnt care less if they rap the rest of the time. I could die happy. Although them rapping might be pretty good too:dozey: EDIT: I too would absolutely go crazy for Warning Sign live!
Tonsu
Wow, there seems to be a lot of support for Warning Sign - I didn't think it was one of their more popular songs! :)
Bonus_mosher
Warning sign and Politik are my all time favourite songs. and now Cemteries and daahf is in there somewhere :D
Pseudonym
^arent "Cemeteries" and "Death" just fantastic? And yeah, Warning Sign isnt as popular as Yellow, Clocks, etc, but it is a fantastic song that would sound brilliant live.
crazyduckette
When we were in the queue for BBC , I heard them playing about 20 secs of Politik, I really thought that they were going to play it! but alas. :bigcry:
Stephie
Actually I'm not a big fan of the "hits" like Clocks, In My Place, Fix You etc. on the albums. But live they still shine for me and I love to hear them. Well, maybe I could do without Fix You, but the others are just fine. I love the acoustic version of Yellow and it's great they've done something new with the song. By doing so it doesn't get boring to hear it. But I absolutely agree with all those wanting to hear some other songs like Warning Sign, Amsterdam, Shiver etc. And I want to hear Everything's Not Lost again. Even though I know it will make me cry.

Glossal Fragster
i liek hearing fix you, yellow and trouble.........fix you was the song that got me into music so they've gotta play that in december...i like the new acoustic yellow set thing they do........trouble's still good....if i wasnt to hear one of them live it would be trouble
Glen
I like hearing them play Fix you and Yellow two of my favourite songs by them. Not everyone has seen them live before me included. I dont see why people go on about fix you being over played its not a old song but its a good one pretty much every time they play, clocks has been played to since 2002 but people dont go on about that being over played no where near as much as fix you. I think its the fact its from X&Y, and lately everyone seems to love bashing X&Y because Coldplay admit it was ONE or TWO tracks long. I think they enjoy playing it, plus they sound great live. Its not a case of what should they ditch but extend the concert time. They cant make more albums and keep it to a hour and a half show all the time at some point they will have to extend there show length to fit more in to statisfy the crowd. I can understand Trouble being on the new setlist because it hasn't really been a regular on the last two tours but Fix You can go. I think they're going to play Clocks just because it was such a big hit. I do like the new interpretation of Yellow though - if they'd played the same old way it would've been a complete was of five minutes concert time.
