September 11, 200817 yr Maybe Ian can put mention this thread in the noticeboard/news section thingo. See, this petition is rather significant. Because, we petitioned for Cemeteries of London and Reign of Love - but they were much more likely to be played regardless because they were on the new album. If we can make such a fuss about 'I Ran Away' and it works, then that (I believe) will be a much greater achievement. So everybody! Post your petition here!! I Ran Away 4 President!
September 11, 200817 yr How good would it be at some concert if you just heard Chris say, "One, two, three, Will..." and this song kicked in? I'd probably die!
September 11, 200817 yr :laugh4: that's the good thing about music...you don't really need a time-machine....(ok it would have been rather possible that they'd have played it some years ago...) actually my true petition is: Please never take out clocks of your setlist!:smug: I think I have the best chances with my petition..:P Yes Julia i agree with you i like Clocks and we have to be proud too for liking it because its a grammy winning song and also in many places the radio stations will play it always even in US.And it also shouldn't ever be removed from the setlist. i am also feeling proud that for the petition i opened for Reign of Love it made to the setlist and i am able to listen it atleast once. i know because in 2005 they did played some songs and also they used to keep on changing with the set lists. The only song they didn't played from X&Y is twisted logic. And i also very strongly want to support for the people who opens a petition for Yes in any where in the world and in any coldplay forum.i like that song.:)
September 11, 200817 yr I think the band definitely has to take note of what goes on in here; just look at Will's latest interview at Coldplay.com: Does it feel different to the North American tour? Yeah, it does. We've changed the set slightly. We felt like for the American tour we had to come out guns blazing and we didn't really feel confident about a couple of the new songs yet. But I think with the record having been out a little longer, people are getting used to its songs. We also had people like Phil saying that Cemeteries Of London, for example, has been going down really well in Europe and online and all that. So we thought, let's try and branch out a little. We're doing a couple of newer additions, Cemeteries being the main one. And where else would Phil get feedback online but from coldplaying.com? Either THAT or Will just inadvertently outed him as the Oracle... :laugh4:

September 11, 200817 yr I would looooooooooooove to ear I RAN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!!! Well, I think I would also faint, if I heard Chris saying "one, two, three, Will"..... It's my favourite song, and not my "favourite b-side song", it's REALLY my favourite one (yeah, I know it's really hard to choose one, because they're all so perfect, but this one is like...more than perfect!) And I did not know what to do So I RAN AWAY from you.... Please, please, please, please, please
September 11, 200817 yr I Ran Away = Best Coldplay song never to be an album track PLEASE DO IT LIVE GUYS!!!!!!!!!!
September 12, 200817 yr Author No sorry, I Ran Away is the best song ever in music history of all time! Probably a live version of this song will be appreciated more than the beauty of the end of the world! Please guys, give me this gift!
September 12, 200817 yr i want this song live i dont care if they play it 20 straight times in a row it would never get old, and no acoustic crap either
September 12, 200817 yr whooot i should post that in the phil thread since that's on page 2... and Phil reads here so if we want things done we need to keep his ego up! edit: oh and the oracle is debs wild Or is that just what the Oracle WANTS us to think? Yeah, probably not... :laugh4:
September 12, 200817 yr I love I ran away and agree it's a fantastic song, but I don't think they're playing it because very few people actually know it :(
September 12, 200817 yr Well, few people know The Dubliners or Death Will Never Conquer, right? I mean, unless they're diehard fans like us! They'd probably just think, "Oh, a new song!"
September 12, 200817 yr YES!!!!!!! I Ran Away is one of my ultime favourite Coldplay songs, I'd kill to see it played live!
September 13, 200817 yr Or is that just what the Oracle WANTS us to think? Yeah, probably not... :laugh4: nooo the oracle is not smart enough to think that far ahead....
March 19, 201610 yr Administrators I'm in but I don't actually think they would be able to play it live
March 19, 201610 yr Thanks people...I mean technically it should not be a problem for them to play it live, but I know they would be reluctant to play an old B-Side...
March 24, 201610 yr I'm in but I don't actually think they would be able to play it live Unwilling to, not unable to. Although they played A Whisper live during the GS era which was a great surprise. I don't see this in the realm of impossibility.
March 24, 201610 yr Although they played A Whisper live during the GS era Wow really ? I didn't know that. Hmm, so that means there is a tiny tiny chance that an old song might still see the light of day. You know what, if I had a few people supporting me I really would organize some kind of petition for I Ran Away live (I say some kind because I am as yet unsure in which form...it would have to be something creative that grabs their attention rather than a plain text message - for example, the Coldplaying Chorus Project made me think of doing something similar for I Ran Away, where everybody sings a line and we send the resulting audio/video message to Coldplay HQ) The worst thing that might happen to us is being ignored (most likely) or receiving No for an answer (second most likely), but we have nothing to lose ! So why not give it a try ? Who would be in for it ?
