[##CANCELLED - DISCUSSION PG138 ONWARDS] 09-Aug-09: Ford Amphitheatre, Tampa, FL

Dianne, wasn't the contest for USA people only and only for a fl. date. and UK people had a chance for Wembly if they lived in the UK? I thought they had seperate contests, therefore my win was only for USA not UK? Hell if I know:confused:

Right, there were two contests and the UK contest is still going until Aug 31 or Sept 1, I forget. I entered the US contest, and if I'd won, they would have flown me from CA to FL. But they were getting off easy since you won and already live in FL. I think they're being very generous in offering you the trip to Wembley due to the uncertainty of rescheduling Florida. I really hope it all works out for you because it will be an amazing experience (and I'm available if your husband isn't :laugh3:).

It's was suppose to be airfare for 2, one night stay and concert tickets, well I could drive to my concert as it was 2 hours away, so they only gave me ONE nights stay near the venue in Tampa, so they saved on airfare, but still only offered ONE nights stay, they got off pretty good with that:D

Ok, I just read this after I commented...we just got home from soccer practice - my life is soccer practice and football 2-a-days starting next week.

:kiss:It's ok Dianne:lol: Oh and I do realize they are being very generous, I was shocked, I'll know more tomorrow, I hope.

Yeah, maybe they felt guilty about 1 night at a Holiday Inn. It's great that they're following through, and keeping in contact.

My email from Tom this morning in regards to me asking if it also included airfare was this,

Yes 2 nights in London..

If this is ok for you, we'll set up everything.

I imagine the Yes is YES for airfare, I am going to go get the passports started today.

awesome news MartinFan ....good luck with the passports...it's mostly just busy work but it'll be good for 10 years!

have an awesome day!

Awesome News!

Wow! That's great news! Enjoy the trip and the show!

To anyone and everyone:

I am a huge coldplay fan who has always visited this site but never posted. I joined because I am originally from Ohio and I now live just south of Tampa. I got two really good tickets to this show right when they came out through my GM at work and have been sitting on them for a long time now. After coldplay postponed their show I have debated holding onto them even longer because i love them so much but I need some funds for a plane trip home to see the USC Ohio State game in september. SO I am coming here in hopes that I can find someone who wants to buy these from me now so I can get some cash and then when they do come back I will probably just get lawn seats( I saw Dave last night at Ford from the lawn and there really isnt a bad seat in the house. The lawn feels closer to the stage than most places Ive been and the two huge screens help a lot.)

The tickets are in Section 10, Row J, Seats 14, and 15. I paid 330 for them, I am lookin to break even if possible.

If anyone is interested or has a friend or two who might want them feel free to email me.

[email protected] or you can get me through facebook. David Lenker.

Please serious inquiries only.

Thanks,

David

Ok, picked up the papers to fill out, got my pic done at walgreens, and my hubby is having his done today when he gets up, then in the morning we are going to the clerk of the courts and hand in the papers and all documents and of course expedite it, and shell out over 300.00 bucks for the 2 of them, and we are gonna pay the extra 14.50 each to have them overnighted when they are complete. Fingers crossed it takes 2 to 3 weeks and I only have just 4 weeks a a couple of days.:\

you'll be fine MartinFan! thats what we had to do and it all worked out. we only had 2 weeks to work with..you having 4 gives you some cushion! best of luck and congrats that you'll be heading across the pond!

Sam your so sweet and positive!!! Thank-You I needed that!!! Let's all hope we can meet up with everyone here in Tampa soon!!!

let me know! i've never been to a meet up with other fans before. it would be a blast! too bad the concert isn't at the st pete times forum...we could hang out across the street and get some nice cold beverages before the show!!

Well we were all gonna meet up at the Hard Rock after the Tampa show, for those so called beverages:D We shall plan it again soon, I hope.

How is the Hard Rock? I've passed it a few times but have never been able to visit? I know it's Vegas but is it a decent place to hang out?? thanks!

You'll be fine timewise. I renewed mine two years ago at the height of the passport frenzy, and it took 4 weeks. The funny thing was that my kid's renewals came in 2 weeks for some reason - guess they needed to investigate me further and my kids weren't a threat. :laugh3:

i meant "it's NOT Vegas"....!

Ha ha, you can say that again. lol We were going to meet up for our own after party because it's right across from the fairgrounds. I've been the the HRH in Vegas, and it's loud, smokey, and huge.

I *will* get back there for the show. I'm still depressed and on top of that, my cat has been missing for 2 days :( And my kids are being buttheads. 26 more days until school starts, not that I'm counting. Oh, and my husband is buying a freaking motorcycle - can you say mid-life crisis? Just shoot me now.

Dianne... Step away from the puter and breathe..... My 17 yr old daughter has been giving me fits with her boyfriend who has strung her along forever, then asks her out, then when she went on vacation he broke up with her on the phone, then 2 weeks later she was gonna go out with someone else and he got pissed off and didn't want to speak to her, so they got back together, she snuck out yesterday afternoon to the park near our house and I caught them smooching on the slide..... ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGG!!! They are brats I tell ya... BRATS!!!:laugh3:

I did not know a passport costs $150! What a rip off. I have never had one but wanted to get one in case I ever want to travel, especially with Coldplay's touring abroad.

With the fees to expedite them it's like 160.00 per. Then we are paying another 14.50 to have them overnighted when they are completed. Oh well we will have them for 10 yrs.

Ok first Michael Jackson dies on me when I was due to see him on my birthday and now Coldplay cancel on me when I changed my flights and extended my holiday to see them in Tampa! Just hope the Muse guys are ok for my gig in November in Liverpool, Uk!

Seriously like many other fans I was so dissapointed when I found out on Saturday that the gig had been cancelled just as I checked in to my hotel. I feel for all the others who took time off work and had paid for flights round the country. Our night was spent drinking and singing in the hotel bar whilst getting some very odd looks from people who just thought we were mad english folk who had been in the sun too long.

My friend has got vip tickets to see the Wembley gig just hope she comes down with a small does of swine flu then I can buy them off her...:wink3:

A typical passport costs something like $105 the first time. A renewal is less expensive. If you are over 16 years old, they're valid for ten years.

A little salt in the wounds from Live Nation:

today I get a "Review Coldplay at Ford Amphitheatre" email from them.

At Live Nation, we want to create great concert experiences. That’s where you come in - we want your feedback on Coldplay at Ford Amphitheatre.
