Yeah, stupid Chris...

Yay Tracey!!!!!!

Come ON Dianne, try and work your magic!!!! It's your BD

or?

Since the Tampa and Birmingham concerts are cancelled and must be rescheduled, does anyone suspect that Coldplay will be adding other US dates when they make up these dates? I am kind of hoping they would add other concert dates seeing that the band will lose money spending it on the logistics of taking the tour back to the US. Maybe they can recoup that money by adding more concert dates. Hopefully, in New York or somewhere in the Northeast USA.

or Canada! ;)

You know, I did look into it, and the cheapest flight + hotel I could find was $950. That, of course, doesn't include ticket or food. Even though I had a free air ticket (well, I still had to pay $85 because I booked last minute for a "free" ticket), I still had to pay for hotel, car, ticket, food...and all that came to about $500 for a weekend of no Coldplay. I'd love to be there for the experience, but to be honest, I'm not a big fan of huge stadium shows. You are going to have an awesome time, and think of me on my birthday, Sept 18, and make Jonny a happy belated birthday sign.

I don't like the stadium shows either and I hope my tickets will not be too far away.

Morning People!!! Tom at Babelgum sent me a email asking if I want to go to Wembly with 2 nights stay. I am torn, having 2 teens that are in school, not knowing to take my older one and myself over there or waiting for Tampa. I would really want to do tampa, cause I don't like going to unfamiliar places without the hubby, I haven't been to London in over 30 yrs.

Oh what to do, what to do..............

Damn, that is so amazing...you're going right??!! :D

Ya know when I was asked in the email from Tom, he said this...

How about Wembly in London? 2 nights Hotel..

I assumed airfare would be with this, but I might have jumped the gun?? Now I am worried since this is not the original contest I won, That they don't provide airfare, then I am screwed.

CRAP!!! I sent him another email asking him if he would clear it up.

You need to clear up the airfare situation. If they are prepared to pay for it then go :D Father/kids bonding time would be fun :D

Weee! Wembley Bound!

Yes, now I am kinda bummed cause, I can't imagine them paying airfare, what an idiot I am for jumping the gun, I guess I'll know tomorrow, CRAP IF I AM WRONG:(:(:(

Would you think this means no airfare??

Hi Tracey,

what about London? At Wembley stadium.

2 nights Hotel?

T

Fares aren't tooooo bad for Sept...they're not cheap, but I look at England to Florida flights often, to visit Mel and $765 is farely decent, comparitively.

Ya know in the second email I recieved from them they asked me if I was in the UK or the US, so if I had said UK they would have flown me from UK to Tampa, Right? This was back in the early stages of finding out. Oh Crap, now I gotta wait till tomorrow:confused: I am such a dumbASS

The original contest was open to anyone in the US to go to Tampa. It just happened that you live in Florida, so didn't need a flight. They didn't know where you lived, because they only had an email address. So it would stand to reason that they'd include airfare to London, since they would have included airfare to a winner, say, from CA to FL. But you should clarify, just to be sure.

@Mimixxx: Why don't you book a flight from London to Tampa on first class? The roundtrip fare is approximately $10,500

I've done a few LA-London flights first class, and let me tell you, that is the way to go. We lived in London for a year for my husband's job and they flew us AND the kids first class. Back in the day of unlimited travel budgets...

I feel for you Dianne. Things have changed now after September 11, 2001 :dozey:

Dianne, wasn't the contest for USA people only and only for a fl. date. and UK people had a chance for Wembly if they lived in the UK? I thought they had seperate contests, therefore my win was only for USA not UK? Hell if I know:confused:

Don't feel bad. I would never have thought that they could give you tickets for Wembley without giving you the airplane tickets.

Lets see what they say tomorrow.

That will be amazing if they do that! Chris gettting sick and you get to go to the Wembley show instead! I would think they would include airfare since, like Diane said, they would have included it initially if you didn't already live in Florida...

However, I did notice it said TWO DAYS hotel. Didn't the original say ONE day, then they upped it to two days because you already lived in Florida?! I can't imagine they would fly you to London though and only give you one day hotel since it's so far. I don't know, it's hard to tell! *fingers crossed*

I wish I was going though, I just don't have any more holiday time left or I'd be doing it and visiting the family in a heartbeat!

Oh well, maybe the re-scheduled Tampa date then

Oh, believe me, I know. This was pre-2001, back when companies had unlimited travel budgets, and everything was spend spend spend. It's why my husband's London assignment was terminated 2 years early and most of the benefits of being an ex-pat were eliminated. You were joking about first class, and I was meaning it's great when someone *else* is paying for it.

It's was suppose to be airfare for 2, one night stay and concert tickets, well I could drive to my concert as it was 2 hours away, so they only gave me ONE nights stay near the venue in Tampa, so they saved on airfare, but still only offered ONE nights stay, they got off pretty good with that:D
