[##CANCELLED - DISCUSSION PG138 ONWARDS] 09-Aug-09: Ford Amphitheatre, Tampa, FL

I'd have thought the album in December (if it happens) would only be a greatest hits thing - nice way to round off the decade, only needs one or two new tracks, and minimal promotion

And plus they'd be done with their contract!

:veryangry2:MEEEEE EITHER if there is a tour this yr, I would assume they would be posting soon in order to start selling tickets.

I don't want to get anyone worried here but I just had the privilege of seeing CP in Toronto on July 30th. I was in the pit front row .... well the rail. I noticed that despite his energy and enthusiasm that CM did not look very well. My mom who was about 15,000 people behind me also noticed this on the screens.

I think they've toured too long and intensely. You look at what he gives the audience, and think of doing that every other night in between flights and busses etc.

I suspect that they need to rest for a bit. God love 'em

well..the good thing is that it looks more positive that they will honor the date (i had no doubt they would!) and make it back for a one and only USA show for the fans in Tampa. Maybe by then some of the newer material they will be working on will be complete and maybe then can rewards the fans by playing a new tune or two! wishing for the best....

Maybe you should get someone else to buy a ticket on your behalf, Sam :P

Yeah, and don't show up until the first song.

It was really good to hear some official news - at last!! I checked Coldplay.com to see if there was any news and read Anchorman's message and went to this thread to post Anchorman's message, but Dianne had already posted it.

It appears from this message that there is a show in Herning on Sunday. :):laugh3::)

I do hope that Chris Martin will be "fit for fight" then and not taking any chances.

I heard the video of them doing "Billie Jean" and thought that it would be a good song for Will C to sing - also to spare Chris' vocal cords. We do not want Chris to lose his voice or something!

For those affected by the postponement of the Tampa show I think that the rescheduled concert will be held in connection with a Latin American tour. The thread dealing with rumours of a South-American Tour mentioned February.

Dianne - let us hear if you get a reply from Anchorman to the pictures incl. text you sent him.

Yeah, and don't show up until the first song.

yikes ladies..calm down now..

;-)

.i'll do my best to make sure the show happens this go around! i promise not to jinx it!!

So answer me this, how long will Live nation go without giving refunds out? I mean what happens if the re-scheduled date isn't posted for a month or 2 or 3, and Livenation is flooded with requests for refunds? I personally have 2 sec. 8 tickets plus my contest tickets so I might wanna cash in the sec.8 and try for pit or closer, when they come on sale.

OH and Sam, welcome to us crazy ladies. LOL.

This shit blows for you guys. I bet the show will be great though when they finally do it.

Personally, I'd go with February. I think they'll need a bit of time off after the European leg, then they'll be dying to get back in to the studio

Plus there were rumours of another album in December to mark their tenth anniversary...

if they realllllyyyy loved us fans (especially us fans who were going to the tampa concert) then they'd say : "Screw another album.....we gots fans to make happy. Fly us to tampa!!"

an album would be great, but i was soooo loking forward to this concert. when i got the phone call, i almost dropped a blowdryer on my clients head. it was heartbreaking. Me and my dad were gonna stay with our family in tampa and we had section 10 seats!!!! good ones :). I was looking forward to hearing the most beautiful sound in the world - thousands and thousands of Coldplayers all singing the Viva chant together!!

I love that sound. I have the Leftrightleftrightleft cd in my car and love listening it.....especially now, when i should have just had an amazing night!!

I'm glad i did get to atleast go to a concert last november in orlando. That was wonderful. This one is sorely missed tho.

Oh well.....the time will come.

Our boys will not dissappoint!!!! :)

You are most welcome!!

btw...if you decide to change up your section 8 tix...i only was able to get 2 tickets in section 13 (damn LiveNation pre-sales!!). i would be happy to pay the difference of what you paid compared to mine...it's been so long since i've had a good view of the fella's. the best show (at least the closest i was to them) was my first Coldplay show at the Hard Rock in Orlando several years ago. unfortunately since then i've been pretty much closer to the back (I was upper level at the Madison Square Garden). I did have floor seats to last year's Cleveland show..but I had a girl stand on her chair the whole time so I had to go back and forth during the whole show. She was finally asked to leave the area...but that was during the encore! argh!!

thanks for taking time to read my long post...just looking for a decent upgrade!! thanks in advance!

While I'm not all *that* concerned about the ticket price, I am a bit annoyed that I had to pay $18 to fed ex my ticket to me. I bought it 2 weeks before the show, and the only option for delivery was fed ex - no print out, no will call, nothing else. My $104 ticket ended up costing $156. But I'm gonna hang on to it.

I hope they change the setlist for this show, and not play the same thing over again.

They ripped you off right there Dianne, you should have waited a little for the option of regular delivery to show up. $18 for express delivery? Jeez.

I wonder if it was because I live in CA? I dunno, but it was irritating, none the less. Made even more so because we were on vacation and I was worried it would need to be signed for, so I told our petsitter to make sure she signed the "ok to leave the envelope on the porch" notice, so it wouldn't get shipped back to livenation, if fed ex couldn't deliver it within 3 days. It was fine, though, but geez $18...even tho I had free airfare, it was not a very inexpensive weekend. I got hosed on the darn rental car too, last time I rent from a no-name rental company! But, I'll do my damndest to get out there again...

It's true the myth that they say: If you rent your car in the airport it's more expensive. You are better going to the city, or to somewhere cheap to rent your car. There are discounts for up to 60% and you can get a Civic for like $17 a day.

Well, if they re-schedule it to later this year or early next year, I may go myself. Who knows when they might tour again. At least the postponement means some of us might be able to join you all :)

It wasn't sold out right?

No, there are some nosebleeds left as well some in StubHub and eBay.

Hi guys, I was working, so I coldn't log in for some time. I just read 4 pages of postings.

Diane your pictures are amazing, thanks. You are becoming famous now  I hope the anchorman post the Coldplay shaped fans pictures in their homepage.

The Pit looks a lot smaller than I thought it wil be.

The only good thing about waiting a few months is that the weather will be much much nicer and cooler from October through February. I was not looking forward to stand in line for hours with a temperature of 97F (feels like 110) and some 100%humidity.

Are you guys going to hold on to those Pit tickets? I think I will keep mine. I'm sorry for those people who bought tickets for way over the face value on Stub Hub or Ebay.

Sam, maybe if you ask for a refund and return your ticket, we will get our concert sooner :laugh3: (just joking)

I consider myself lucky. I attended their first show (second leg) on WPB. Chris was full of energy. He was jumping up and down and running from side to side of the stage. Rodie 42 wrote in his blog that the Show in WPB was on the top 10 as one of the most energetic shows delivered by the boys. (and he has been in hundreds of Coldplay gigs). :)

Thanks. I had such a fun time with Kelly, Denise and Helena. I was so glad to meet and hang out with people with whom I could discuss all things Coldplay and they didn't think I was some kind of stalker freak, lol. Kelly is now on vacation with her family, so I don't know how much internet access she has, and Helena and Denise are spending a few days in NYC before heading back to Europe. So if we didn't have Coldplay, spending the day with really nice fun people was a great way to get over the disappointment. Next time, I hope to meet the rest of you Coldplay freaks like me. ha ha ha We will have a great time in the pit and remember our afterparty?
