Nah Reggie, It will be the start of LIT, Fix You:P Chris is not all about the looks, hope you didn't get the impression that's all I was worried about, like his haircut... I love The Whole Band, their impecable good looks and sexiness is just icing on the cupcake:wink3:

The Escapist is the instrumental that you hear before LIT ("intro"), so I guess it's the sound of the hammered dulcimer at the beginning of LIT that pushes you over the edge, as it does me too. The Escapist is also the recorded song that plays after LIT2, when the lights come up and people start leaving ("outro.") Then hear Chris' voice gently singing, "And in the end, we lie awake, and we dream of making our escape." The concert is very structured in the way it begins and ends with the same two melodies. Very creative and ingenious, I think. It also sounds very romantic and mystical.

Tracey, I hope you have access to a computer while you're on your trip to London. I would love to hear every detail about your concert-going experience there and I'm betting that many on this forum feel the same.

I am new at this, so I don't exactly know how my "signature " will show. My husband and I recently became relatively die-hard Coldplay fans. We planned a vacation around going to three Coldplay concerts on the west coast, as well as seeing them in Salt Lake last Nov. The vacation was fabulous! We decided , on a whim, to fly to Tampa to see them. We were quite disappointed the concert was postponed. I did get our money back for our tickets. However, if they reschedule, I will be right there to get more tickets. I am encouraged by the observation that they were still on the X&Y tour a couple of years after the album's release. If they do re-schedule, I hope it's at the beginning of the tour!:)

Hi SD, Welcome to the board. I live in Orange County and flew to Tampa for the concert. I found out about the postponed concert when I landed in Atlanta. I'm really hoping there Is an announcement soon. I'm holding on to my pit ticket until I hear one way or the other.

This may help to explain why the black screen had so many problems in the Hannover show. Look at how huge it is. In most shows, it only covers the center part of the stage where Coldplay begins the show. This one goes all the way across the huge stage:

It does look pretty awesome, though, doesn't it? I'm glad I went saw Coldplay from a good seat in an amphitheatre instead of a stadium. It seems very hard to get a good view from such a monstrous venue. Of course for Wembley, it would not matter just because of the special night it will be for Coldplay's homecoming and final show of the 2009 N.A./European leg.

Unless there is one in the hotel, I am afraid I will send texts or cell phone calls thru Dianne not sure if her phone service will take calls or texts from overseas, if not then I am afraid I won't be able to do it until I arrive home, Wait, maybe I could do it thru my daughter, and she could come on and post in my name here, One way or another we will work it out to get some kind of messages through. Oh, but I am afraid during the concert I won't be doing anything, I don't want to be trying to do the phone and miss the show. I am really slow at texting, I don't have a texting phone, so it takes me forever.:laugh3:

this is bad

I'm really feeling bad for the Tampa folks - you still haven't heard anything about a new date! That's pretty irresponsible and further, it just really sucks!

Say something, Anchorman!

Cudos to the Tampa Colplayers for taking this so calmly.

Oh pages back we were all crying and real peeved, but I think we are just a wee peeved now, only because of the fact we feel like we have been forgotton.

He may be all those things, but I completely envy his job. I wish I could work for Coldplay in any capacity, no matter how humble, that would allow me to be around Chris Martin as much as possible.

It would be a dream come true to have Rd 42's work. Travel with Coldplay, total access to take pictures, videos, and write about them.

Welcome SD. I hope you can get Pit tickets for Tampa (because they are coming back ;))

Phone calls from Europe are very expensive :(. I hope you have a good camera to take videos and pictures. I'm sure you will find internet access. Thanks for thinking about us :)

Did you see the Coldplaying.com sign at the door?. That was nice of him

Diane, I always thought the Oracle was a handsome 30 something man (I don't know why... well maybe because he answer a very personal question I asked a while ago, and the answer was like a guy point of view). You posted something saying "he" was a "her". I'm kind of disappointed :)

The Oracle might not be one person, or a person who consults with many others to get answers, taking a committee approach. I thought it might be Gwenyth when you said the Oracle is a "she." :P

Hi Dianne - It's interesting how many people will fly across the country to see this band! We had pit tickets - if (when?) they reschedule, I sure hope we can get pit tickets again. We didn't find out about the postponement until we were in Tampa and had been there one night. We were staying across the street from the venue - when we left the hotel Sun. morning, across the street was a flashing sign that indicated the show had been postponed. If only I had checked my email at the San Diego airport before we left! I also hope they announce something soon...

Welcome SD. I hope you can get Pit tickets for Tampa (because they are coming back ;))

I really, really hope you're right! I sort of regret getting a refund for our tickets. I sort of jumped the gun! As soon as I hear they've rescheduled, I will try to get pit tickets...

:)havent been in this thread for awhile:\

What's up Amy?

I read the first several pages of this forum and saw that its members went through the same b.s. that I went through for my concerts.

LiveNation tries to sell the less desirable seats first to those most willing to buy at the beginning of the sales period, saving the best seats for sale later. If many people bought seats that they are not happy with, they will ask for refunds if they haven't already. If enough people bail out and request refunds, there is a probably a good chance the show will, indeed be canceled. I initially bought lawn tix because LN was showing all reserved seats sold when the tix for the 7/13 concert went on sale! Luckily, a friend was able to take them and I bought some nosebleed seats for $124, which was a rip off.

I also noticed that some of the big name bands, like the Killers, have slashed their ticket prices almost in half. The recession must be hitting the concert business hard. The likelihood that they won't be able to sell enough tix will also be a factor in whether to cancel the show. I was afraid that LN was going to cancel the 7/14/09 Wheatland show because so many of the seats were still unsold as of a week before the concert. However, they had many promotions and slashed the prices of the tix in half with 2 for 1 sales and by adding two lower priced tix at $40 and $50 which also qualified for the 2/1 sale. By the date of the show, the place was pretty much full. I was so happy they didn't cancel because I was able to get front and center seats close to the stage.

I don't want to worry anyone, but there is a chance that many people will refund their tix out of frustration and anger, going back to how LN handled the pre- and general sale.

To cheer everyone up, a favorite Chris Martin quote:

:)Coldplay is for people with great taste, intelligence, incredible good lookingness, talent, ability, success, grabbing of life. Coldplay's for people who know what life's about. They're always entertaining. Delightful to talk to. Sweet, charming, incredibly good in bed. Virile. They have incredible success with girls, or boys, or both. They're generally just the world's best citizens. Maybe I'm biased, but I'm definitely right."

I love the sing along aspect of this song:

Tickets

If they come back to the US only for the Tampa show, those tickets will be like gold. If months past before they come back, more people will be willing to travel for this special gig. That is if they only do one show.

I'm really feeling bad for the Tampa folks - you still haven't heard anything about a new date! That's pretty irresponsible and further, it just really sucks!

i think we are holding on to the hope they will still make it back. if they had already canceled the show for good...then i'm sure a lot of the coldplayers would be disappointed! since they haven't made if official..i feel pretty optimistic it will happen one day ....
