Earth Hour

Featured Replies

It's earth hour here in Sydney in about 10 minutes. For those of you who don't know, Earth Hour is an organised event where people are encouraged to turn off lights for an hour, with the target of raising people's consciousness about the link between global warming and energy use.

My electricity was cut off for half an hour last night by the builders. Does that count??

I'm going to turn on all the lights in my house for that hour in protest of Al Gore's inaccurate movie.

What about your "club"??

Nelly Furtado?:D

lalala turn off the light!

My boyfriend was not too keen on the idea, but when he realised the football will be over by then he relented

The Earth Hour is a great idea against the climate change, but the worst problem is that nowadays there are still lots of people who don't believe in such things, though it affects us all, and ignorance only helps to make the situation worse...

And those who think that Al Gore's documental is just about pessimistic ideas on the Earth's condition, they just know a very little part of all the truth.

Saving energy it's not so difficult, it's just about thinking what we really need.

That's not very complicated.

al gore's documentary has over 10 wrong facts in it. complete fear mongering. it is still not decided whether man has influenced climate change...especially since the temperature seems to be going down in the last 10 years.

Well, I spent a really nice hour actually. No music, no telly, we just sat and talked for an hour and really listened to each other - not getting distracted by anything else... it was bliss.

I think we were the only ones in our street. Our next door neighbours seemed to have even more on than usual :(

I've had everything off in the house except for the computer and one lamp all night.
