ROBBIE WILLIAMS and TAKE THAT in DENMARK for 2 CONCERTS - but CONCERT 2 has been CANCELLED due to FOOD POISONING

 

 

Yesterday TAKE THAT played a well-acclaimed concert in front of more than 40,000 enthusiastic fans in Parken, Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

Today TAKE THAT should play another sold-out concert here, but the concert has been cancelled a short while ago. The explanation is said to be that Robbie Williams suffers from food poisoning, and his situation is getting worse.

Pet Shop Boys should have warmed up, but will not play either.

The British super group Take That have decided to cancel Saturday's concert in Parken, Copenhagen.

 

According to a press release from Live Nation Denmark, it's because the singer Robbie Williams has got food poisoning.

 

"Despite several doctor visits and medication, the condition has worsened, so Robbie Williams is unable to conduct the concert tonight, which he and the band very much regrets. Unfortunately it is not possible to find a replacement date," said Live Nation Denmark in the press release, which also says that tickets can be refunded from Monday 25 July.

 

According to Live Nation Denmark will Take That come with a personal message later tonight.

 

People are "quite moody"

Rumours about a possible cancellation began to hover around 17.30 o'clock, and several thousand fans were already standing ready at the entrances to the Danish national stadium, as the information was confirmed by Live Nation Denmark.

 

And according to Jan Olsen, acting spokesperson for the park, the mood in Østerbro far from good right now.

 

"Right now we're fairly busy trying to get people away from here. They are quite moody, which I very well understand. It was something they had looked forward to," he said.

Robbie is a lovely man anyway, and sing so great and Pet Shop Boys too

On the news I heard of some girls from Jutland having got up very early in the morning and then travelling to the capital Copenhagen by train. So naturally, they are very disappointed that the concert was cancelled.

 

I wonder: I have read that the Take That concerts are in 3 parts - one part with Robbie alone - one part with all of Take That (incl. RW) and then one part with Take That without RW.

 

I am a bit surprised that Take That could not perform their part without RW so that the fans got at least Pet Shop Boys and then Take That minus RW. In particular because the concert was cancelled so late - around 17:30 the rumours and the concert should have started at 20:00 (8PM).

As mentioned, Take That cancelled yesterday's concert in Copenhagen, Denmark.

 

The apparent reason was that Robbie Williams (RW) had food poisoning!!

 

BUT he only joined Take That recently after 15 years' absence. Take That has been on tour before - the 4 of them - so it should be possible to perform at least some of the concert without RW as the concert was divided into 3 parts - one with RW alone, one with Take That incl. RW and one part with Take That without RW. And Pet Shop Boys was the warming up group. So why couldn't a shorter concert take place with Pet Shop Boys as warming up band and followed by Take That without Robbie Williams?

 

The band published a message saying that Take That was sorry for the cancellation, but as it was a reunion concert with Robbie Williams back in the group, then they couldn't perform without Robbie Williams. It was Take That's first ever cancellation of a concert.

 

A girl that the Danish newspaper BT had talked to had been at a party with some of the Take That members (either Friday or Saturday night), and she told the newspaper (BT) that the atmosphere among the band members had been bad!!

 

Take That is expected to move on to Amsterdam to perform a concert on Monday 18.7.11. I wonder whether this concert will take place.

 

It has not been possible to find a new date for another Take That concert in Denmark. So the disappointed concert goers can get their money back from Monday 25.7.11.

 

Robbie Williams has revealed that - after this Take That tour which will end at the end of July - he will leave Take That again. He is planning to release an album in 2011 and then he will go on a solo tour.

I was really disappointed in not getting tickets for the Robbie Williams concert in Amsterdam, but today they released some more tickets and I got mine!!! I'm so happy right now :) :)

Candy was covered by pretty much every (covers) band I overheard doing Christmas balls.

Is was soooooo awesome!!!!

The stadium was sold-out and the atmosphere was the best I've ever seen during a concert. The whole stadium was jumping during Let Me Entertain You.

I couldn't get standing tickets, because it was sold-out so quick, so I had seating tickets. When the band hit it's first notes, everybody stood up and danced. When Robbie played some acoustic songs, some people sat down, but during the rest of the concert everybody stood up, danced and sing along.

 

I got goosebumps when 50.000 people sang Angels along. A beautiful end to a great show.
