^I just read that part in your sig as "I want to live where the cum comes out..."

oops right?

i disagree with a bunch of lyrics other people think are bad :S i personally like 42 lyrics and the prospekts march line!

but the only lyric i truly think is awful (that i can think of right now) is

"and the hardest part was letting go not taking part, that was the hardest part."

really, you rhymed part with part TREE TIMES!?! chris your better then that!! lol

Lol, when he rhymes with the same word

Chris you cant trick us :mean:

Oh, wow. I totally didn't realize that until I read your post. I'm SO observant.

Now I keep thinking of this

This made me lol.

Aw. The "don't you wish that life could be as simple..." line in Prospekt's March is actually one of my favourite lyrics of theirs! Mostly because I connect with the song so much... I think that line has a lot of truth and sadness within my interpretation of it. xP

Uh... all the lyrics in The Hardest Part. Really. They're very... bland.

Also, every time one of their songs mention "puzzle" and "missing piece".

Which is a lot.

"Soldier come home to me

You've been away from me

So long"

anyway, I love all the songs

some songs are hard to undestand, but that doesnt mean that this lyrics are bad... :)

"And open up your eyes

Open up your eyes

Open up your eyes

Open up your eyes

Just open up your eyes"

yeah...

i dont think that their songs have bad lyrics at all! they are open for your interpretation and i dont think about what they literally are saying in the lyrics. i dont think thats a way to listen and truly appreciate music in general and specially with coldplay.

so theres songs that have words that are nice and make sense, but then those songs can only be applied to certain people or situations. coldplay, with their lyrics that dont really make sense can be applied to many people and situations...and there lies the beauty of coldplay.

yea long post, who cares, i just had to let this off my chest cuz this thread was bugging me

I cringed the first time I heard the opening to 42.

That's a fairly obvious one.

Haha! I've not thought of that before but I must say that I'm a little impressed that he managed to do it.

I like the lyrics of 42... And for the first time in my life, I agree with Reilly, we're here to discuss. At least I am.

The worst, in my opinion, are : "And everything under the sun", 6 times in The World Turned Upside Down. Beautiful song, but WTF...

The amount of people who think we don't like particular lyrics because they don't literally make sense is ridiculous.

For most examples (And I think I've said this already in this thread) its that they make so much sense that they're blindingly obvious, usually piss poor analogies.

Amen!

As for worst lyrics, I really can't think of one of the top of my head. I'll have to listen around.

The fish in a barrel line in prospekt's is particularly painful for me.

Talk, Square One, Speed of Sound, it's pretty much littered all on the X&Y songs.

WTF you mean WTF? It makes perfect sense, it's a phrase and everything.:wtf:

And what Reilly said gets lots of poins from me.

For the first time in his life he agrees with me? Hes got 47 posts! :freak: He's probably only seen like 3 of my posts

Look at the earth from outer space / Everyone must find a place / Give me time and give me space / Give me real don't give me fake

Space, Place, Space (again) Fake. Using something like that as the lyrics to a song by a band as big as they are is just lazy. The lines just have no effort put into them...and if it took effort to write those lines then I have highly over-estimated Mr Martin.
