I hate how all these people go on about how bad U2 are but would probably expect coldplay to keep performing until they are 60.

no, it's just other festivals had better lineups. all of them have lots of interesting bands i'd like to see, but when it comes to the big names glasto was lagging behind.

 

That's down to the likes of Leeds/Reading paying a lot more money to bands as they have exclusive sponsorship deals, Glastonbury doesn't pay as much to bands as they don't have as many deals with sponsors and like to give money to charity

I would rather have Coldplay over say Dizzee Rascal getting promoted.

 

Although it would be good if Dizzee Rascal gets promoted to headliners as it will mean I will be able to see the flaming lips :D

3 acts are likely. Coldplay, Led Zeppelin and the god awful Dizzee Rascal.

 

However the natural successor is Coldplay. Led Zeppeling will be a crap letdown like they were at the O2 arena a few years back and Dizzee Rascal - well do I need to explain.

Uhm your facts are wrong. Have you checked U2's salary for the past year? 75.3 million pounds. That's more than any other band or artist have made in the world. So obviously U2 has more fans, and more people are willing to spend money on them.

 

What does facebook fan count give you? A lot of people on my facebook know one song from a band and click "like" so that's pretty inaccurate.

No one can say who is the best band around... saying who is best is all subjective. Like take the "best guitarist of all time"... can you honestly tell me how they pick those lists? ...of course not, it's all based on opinion, that's why the lists constantly change.If you want to say most successful, then yes... perhaps they have that title now.

 

 

IMO, Coldplay have lost their way. I feel that their first two albums were so great in terms of arrangement. X&Y was great for me at first, but I've grown bored of it. VLV... it has some good songs, but I find so many of the songs to have too much going on. I personally prefer the minimalistic Coldplay where they used few guitars. Simplicity worked best for them IMO.

 

 

Also... you guys need to stop with the whole Radiohead/U2 fans should get out of here. If you haven't noticed this thread is in the World of Music (talking about other music outside of coldplay), not one of the coldplaying main threads talking about Coldplay.

 

 

I like all 3 bands, Radiohead of course the most.

why can coldplay not be a persons favourite band? why is it biased for them to be someones favourite? they are nowhere near mine but i think they are pretty decent.
