I was watching TV and I saw the Coldplay at BBC, London (2008). :smug: And then I was like "hey, this song called Yellow is so beautiful...and btw, the singer looks hot :P And then I heard that VLV was their new album and I bought it.

It was over two years ago :shocked2:

My friend just jokingly called them "The Play Of Cold". I lol'd.

My friend dragged me to the movies in 2004 to see "Wicker Park," which I really had no desire in seeing. At the end of the movie "The Scientist" played and I fell in love. When I got home I downloaded every song I could by them(I still have my first Coldplay mix I created of songs I downloaded) and went out and bought Parachutes, AROBTTH, and the Live 2003 cd. I have been hooked ever since...

I saw The Scientist music video. The rest is history.

I was watching a best-of episode of the Antiques Roadshow (of all shows) late at night and the song Clocks was used for a few moments. I knew then that I had heard the piano progression before, and couldn't for the life of me find out what song it was. It was driving me crazy!

Replace "Antiques Roadshow" with "Peter Pan (the 2004 movie) preview on TV", and you've got my "how I discovered Coldplay" story. :)

i've liked them since the very begining bk in 1999-2000 cause my sis liked them a lot, the first song i heard was high speed and then i started listening to them but i didnt liked them that much until 2003 when my sis took me to a cp concert :D thats when i got kind of obsessed :P

I was visiting my best Friend on Faroe island.. She showed me Viva La Vida..I knew Coldplay before Viva.. But for some reason i was not in love.. Now i'm obsessed.. ^^"

One of my friends had a Coldplay song on her mobile-phone (I don't remember which) and I made a mental note to listen to them once I got home, and I've been a fan ever since then.

I heard them first on XM radio. (I don't really remember which channel it was) But, I heard them, looked them up, loved them. And here I am.

I liked them before, but what really got me obsessed was going to their concert! I wasn't originally supposed to go, but three of my friends were going, and it just so happened that something came up and one couldn't go. So I took the extra ticket! And the rest, as they say, is history.

A portuguese tv show called Curto Circuito, which has a kind of requested videoclips time. It was Violet Hill <3

Someone reminded me I liked Speed of Sound back in 2008, so I got X&Y and from that, I was hooked and I went and got all their other albums shortly after.

This is a long and boring story soooo you can skip it...

It was about 1 or 2 years and in my school rockish music was really in. So I started liking bands like Blue October, the Fray, and Muse but I was always looking for new bands. I first heard Coldplay on a commercial at my friends house saying "Coldplay is coming to Arizona come get your tickets NOWWW!!!" and the song playing was viva la Vida and Chris was dancing in the background (sexy:wacky:). I tried remembering there title but I forgot and let it go. But then later (about 5 months) I heard fix you on my friends IPod and looked them and fell in love and joined coldplaying! But honestly I just remembered watching commercial at my friend’s house like a month ago and I freaked. So it must have been fate !

P.S. I love reading these!

My brother used to have me sit down at the piano and play songs that he was listening to on the computer. One day he played Clocks and I figured it out in about five to ten minutes (although looking back I had it wrong! I played the second/third chord as Db Bb G instead of Db Bb F). After that I got hooked on that song and played at least once a day (still have never seen the actual sheet music). Then, senior yeea of high school (2007-08) I would listen to my iPod during Journalism class (wasn't breaking any rules, we were writing the school newspaper) and Politik came on and the last 90 seconds or so got me hooked on that. I only had about 6 Coldplay songs on my iPod (Clocks, the Scientist, Politik, Speed Of Sound, Yellow, Don't Panic). Then on my last day of high school the radio on bus was on some local station and the DJ said (New song from Coldplay here, a little heavier than their earlier stuff." It was Violet Hill, I was hooked, end of story. Got all the cds by Christmas last year.

I had heard songs like Yellow, Clocks and Talk on the radio... enjoyed the songs thoroughly, but had never sought out the albums as i would always forget them when i was going to get music...

i heard violet hill on the radio for the first time... and heard the announcer saying it was coldplay. it was here i remembered the days where i had "promised" myself i would go out and get more of their stuff...

i finally did. and boy am i glad. :) obsession began :)

Harper's Island.

Elaine Cassidy acted in The Scientist video and also in Harper's Island and I took interest in knowing about her so I watched The Scientist music video and liked the song. Something tells me that a remix of The Scientist during my school's Carnival Day last year had something to do with how I liked Coldplay, but I'm not so sure about that one.

Well I had always heard Clocks through the years and loved that song. My dad had "A Rush of Blood to the Head" (he's actually not that big a fan of Coldplay) Anyway, I started listening to that album and found out I really liked In My Place. Then the more I listened to it I fell in love with all the songs. Then I wanted to get Viva La Vida, so I bought it, liked a few songs, and once again, the more I listened, each song grew on me more. As often happens with Coldplay albums, my favorite song on each album isn't my favorite the first time I listen through. I guess I shouldn't say that, but there are some songs I like but then end up loving after a while.

The rest is history, I bought X and Y and Parachutes and got hold of Prospekts March. I swear it feels like I've realized the greatness of Coldplay forever, but it's only been a couple years. I have yet to listen to one of their albums the day it comes out. I bought Viva La Vida after it had been out for almost a year. I will be ecstatic the day their next album is out.

I can't really remember as I was about 6/7. I heard Yellow on the radio and made my Dad "buy more". Been a huge fan ever since.

Facinating story, I know... :P
