FESTIVE (OFFICIAL) BOAT TRIP IN LONDON @ 5PM ON 25 NOV, 2010

Featured Replies

Hey guys, have you all arranged what pub you'll be at? Because if I do get to go as early as it now seems, we might end up in London by 3 :P

The tube arrangements are a bit awkward. Normally the last tubes are 12:30am-- but it is variable from where you're going. Not to get caught out, I'm actually going Brighton to London Bridge now rather than to Victoria and tube. Should work out nicely.

Now I'm going to revise and I will not get distracted by the thread like yesterday. :laugh3:

ETA: Whilst I remember... My friend went on the Erasmus about a month ago now and he said that it's a stunning boat. He said the drinks were a little pricey (but I don't know whether that means regular pricey or on a student budget pricey if I'm honest). But overall he said it's worth going just for the boat!

I really excited now everything is planned and we are definitely going and maybes going to see Bob :D

I am very, very excited already. I can't imagine what I will be like this time tomorrow. (I might be borderline hysteria guys, sorry XD)

To make matters better... I have a meeting for finalising my placement now on Friday  so the rest of the week is going to be epic

I'm finally in London! My day has been crazy :( My flight got delayed three hours due to bad weather in Sweden and then we had to take a bus to another airport to catch our flight. Phew.

Can't wait for tomorrow now!

(I have to go eat, haven't eaten since 7am, haha, feeling a bit strange :P)

Loading up for the airport now. Have to go extra early because it is gonna be insane down there!

Ah you're already there! must be so great to be there! I'm totally freaking out, I'll be taking the bus of 23:00 and arrive tomorrow morning early. I still can't believe this.

Were not setting off until 12:00 tommorow from Darlo so we'll arrive around 3:00

I am! :D Yeah, it's good to be "home" :P Are you taking the same bus as Natascha, then? I'll see you two tomorrow morning!

Wow. All these people already in London. Must be even more exciting!

I won't be setting off tomorrow until 2 and it'll take us 56 minutes exactly apparently. Ha

at least I'll get a bit of a lie in :P

I hope you guys have the best time:bomb:

take lots of pictures please:wacky:

It's not the same bus unfortunately, I'm in one an hour later departing from another city. I'll be at the hostel around eight am.

I know I'll feel so much less stressed when I'm finally there:P

Our hotel is 4 bloody miles away from Kings Cross :shocked2:

I'm leaving now:) See you tomorrow!

Hi

I just phoned the company up and they said it is set to leave from 18:00 - 18:30 and they haven't heard about the 5pm. Also, there are no pier stops booked at the moment so the boat may not stop at all. I don't know any relevant contacts to check the actual departure time so guess I will wait and see

really hope everybody can go!!

i'm making a guess here based on my experience from my old job in events sales & from the info DonQuixote's found out...

the arrival time's been changed to 1hr earlier very likely for logistics reasons. by getting us to plan to arrive by 5PM, the event manager from the boat hire company & Coldplay HQ can make sure that 100 persons (or most of the 100 persons) are on the boat or at least at the pier well before 6PM. then there's enough time for registration & boarding so the boat can depart at the planned time range.

events ppl tend to always deliberately tell guests to arrive at an earlier time than the event's actual start time. that way we can make sure events start pretty much on time, especially if there are back-to-back turnovers (or to avoid additional overtime pay for the operations staff if the event overruns).

just my humble 2cts...

My guest won't be able to make it due to family circumstances.

So if anyone can go really last-minute (preferable someone living close, obviously), let me know.

I'll also be arriving pretty late, but I guess I'll spend the money I saved on coming a day later on getting a taxi to the hostel and from there rush to the boat. Now let's hope there won't be any delays.

I would like to express my extreme displeasure at the fact that last-minute, round-trip train tickets from Norwich to London cost fifty-five bloody pounds. That's a pound more than my hotel cost.

TOTALLY WORTH IT, THOUGH .

I'll be in London by 2PM, will get ready at my hotel, and I hope to get to the area early. It looks like a bit of a walk from any tube station, and it's going to be dark...and it's snowing pretty dang hard here in Norwich right now, so I figure this is also a possibility for tomorrow night in London :stunned:.

Taxi from where, Heathrow? Is your hostel Palmer's Lodge?

When I stayed there in July, and had no clue about the tube I took a taxi from Heathrow... it cost over £70. :dozey:
