Q. Hi Oracle, I think this might be a stupid question, but is there a specific release date for the new album? And will I be able to hear the new song here or where do I stream it? That is probably a stupid question too!

I think something could be announced tomorrow....

The Oracle answered a question today and said to check back on the site tomorrow. Seems suspicious. I am probably wrong, but I think something could be announced tomorrow...

i've been thinking all week they would announce the album release date with the new single coming out. obviously this has been a good press situation for them, they have drawn people in through facebook/twitter/website and there's a lot of buzz in a lot of circles. Even Pitchfork mentioned it (for those who don't know, Pitchfork are kind of musical snobs - although i like them).

 

Point being, the world is going to be tuning in tomorrow. What better time to announce? Rather than wait for sometime during the festivals. It all makes sense.

 

Hopefully we get a good date. Not something four months off!!! It'd be fantastic if it was within 6-8 weeks but that's just hoping. Sooner than that would be UNBELIEVABLE!!!

 

Either way, I'm cautiously optimistic about the buzz for ETIAW and hope I like it myself!

As much as I want their to be an announcement on the album's release date, the Oracle was just answering the second part of that question.

 

but on the other hand.....

I think we will get a release date tomorrow and it will be sometime in August :)

every time they've released an album, they drop a single a month before the release.. maybe it'll be end of june or early july.

They've already said it would be 12 songs. Dunno w/ hidden tracks or w/o.

Well playing 7 new songs at festivals and releasing album 4 month later doesn't have any sense, but who knows, so far LP5 has the weirdest promotion out of all previous albums.

My theory;

- The album is finished (the last couple of months have been very silent: R42, website updates etc.)

- They played (rehearsed) 7 new songs at the family and friends gig 3 days ago.

- Their concert at Glastonbury is going live in cimemas worldwide.

 

What better time to release the album worldwide right after the concert... Where they played the new songs for the first time for all their fans!

 

Call this wishfull thinking if you like, but it all makes sense.

nah i dont think its that early probably the usual coldplay releases from June - July late June

i bet so, but again, its not confirmed that the single will be on the album, its not that good as the rest of the songs of the album i guess.. there been working on this album for so long, and then they release every teardrop that is such a average song, i bet this is a very very good sign people! :D :D

I think it's a little bit to early to judge LP5 and categorize it as an uptempo album with average tracks . I don't even know how can you judge the album already and say it's not fresh when you haven't heard it yet :thinking:

 

You are worried about what are you going to listen after summer ? Well you know what ? There will probably be anoter single more appropriate for winter but for now ETIAW works as a great summer song.

The Melody is taken from ritmo de la nochee, Its legal copied, so no worries;D

It dosnt sound like a 2-years old project for sure, Nobody cant tell us what style the album will be like.. Only time can say that :sneaky:
