i'm an american headed to france for the first time to visit friends and whilst there, i reckon my fiancee and i should attend this show! i'd love some travel advice between paris and arras on the day of the show. what time should i plan to arrive in arras? what's the best site to book a train ticket? do the trains run late enough to return to paris that night? what else do i need to know?

thanks in advance!

You can book your train tickets here. Timetables and other stuff are also on that website.

great, thank you.

any idea around what time the show will end on sunday?

great, thank you.

probably around 11.30 PM. But you'll have no trains for Paris at that hour, so you have to book a room or camp in Arras to return to Paris on monday morning.

Probably around 10.30 or 11 pm

edit: or 11.30 pm :)

thanks again.

I'm coming to Coldplay's concert this year from Croatia because my 16th birthday is on 3rd of July! Can't wait! I've never been to theirs concert and they are my fav band. :)

Hi everybody, first post! *waves*

I have a few questions about Main Square Festival, hope it's the right thread to post since it's not directly about the band... We're trying to decide whether to go to Main Square or Werchter, Main Square is cheaper but I have some concerns about the venue - is there an international feel to the festival like in Werchter, or is it more of a French thing? (Nothing against the French ;) But it can make one feel left out, esp. if you don't speak the language) Also, I read in several places that the ground is uncomfortable because it's full of stones, is that true? Finally, is there anything to do on the festival grounds during the day?

Thanks!

Hi :)

There is mainly French people, but there is also people from many countries like UK, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain... :)

It used to be there until 2009 :

Now it's here :

la-citadelle-arras-1-.jpg

It is less uncomfortable :)

For your last question, you can enjoy the gigs, eat, drink, sit on the grass (mainly under trees), buy things, and I thinks that's all

If someone is interested in, I can go to the Citadelle this weekend and take some pictures :)

You're welcome :D

Thank you very much for posting the pictures, Shini! So is the ground sand or what is it? *considers what shoes to wear :P*

See you at Main Sq! :)

I keep seeing the huge advert at various train stations in Paris these days, kind of made me wanna come over here to build up the excitment a little more!

4 weeks now!

@Anna: Glad I'm not the only one worried by the "what-to-wear- question :P The ground looks a bit sandy yes, so for me I guess it'd be something Converse-style shoes.

See you all at Arras!

See you at Main Sq! :)

It's a kind of tiny gravel

Like Arwen said, I think converse-like shoes should be fine :)

I felt alone in the maybe list so I finally bought my ticket.

I'M GOING TO ARRAS !!

Ahem, just made an addition to the attending list in post 14
